Haaaaaaaaaa… that’s good. I like that. And I think I know what he looks like now, though I’m guessing he’s generally not quite that ragged. 😉 Thanks so much @writefury!

@writefury I like that thing about the Chekhov’s gun being a hinderance. I’ll have to think on that one more.
And I simultaneously came to the same conclusion about the mad scientist – except I went a little farther. I think I’m going to have this guy proclaim himself a god. Yes, this guy is just absolutely wicked. It’s a good thing he looses in…[Read more]

OK, this is good. So @writefury, I came up with an idea for a great Chekhov’s gun that I could use for the overthrow of the dictator. But of course, it wouldn’t actually be enough, because that is just lame. I wan’t things to be desperate from start to finish. I will use this Chekhov’s gun to turn things from impossible to only insane.
Now, the…[Read more]

@writefury I don’t mind info dumping. That is what I do to the rest of you.
Those are some good ideas. I never thought about them trying to hide they were from the future. I’ll have to toy with that.
Now I have to ask, what is a Chekov’s gun? I’ve never heard of that.
As to what happens to the time machine……….
……….I can’t tell you that.

@writefury I’ve never read ‘The Quest for the Seven Castles’…is it good? In my series, each story deals with a separate and how it’s connected back to the Prince (love because of the prince, have inner peace because of trusting Him, etc.) They aren’t connected directly with each other. The theme which does run though the novellas is the Gospel…[Read more]

Hey, @writefury! Sorry, I didn’t notice you’d posted or I would have gotten back to you sooner. 😛
I love this story— everything about it. The casually western feel, the quiet vividness of the MC… and the emotional hook with Owen Morgan. All the characters were well done, the dialogue was fantastic, and the last line was perfect. Tied it all…[Read more] -

@writefury Funny you should mention that. 🙂 We’ve gone every year for the past 5 years. I don’t think we’ve decided for certain about this year, but I highly suspect that we will go. If we do, I’ll shoot you an email and figure out a time/place to meet in that massive church. That would be so fun!!!

@writefury Isn’t it amazing the temp difference in one state? We have some friends that live near Seattle and they tell us that it is quite pleasant there…40 degrees or so. It didn’t get any warmer than 10 degrees here today, but the sun was shining very bright and making the snow look like glitter. It was beautiful, despite the bitter cold that…[Read more]

@writefury – the line “Again, not a smart thing to say” is actually a tie-in to a previous comment.
I really wish you could all read the story. It is probably too long to post on the forum. But you’d be able critique it…[Read more] -

Oh boy this thing made me laugh.
I’ve absolutely nothing to pick on except one thing. I noticed you use subject sentences a LOT. So many of the sentences began with ‘I’ or ‘Me’ or ‘The etc.’ You might try breaking up that pattern a bit— it can sound a little strange.
But otherwise this was great. Sterling has a very distinct personality (so…[Read more]

Thanks @Daeus and @writefury— the drink is not important. So I conclude it was a good description as descriptions go, but unnecessary, which cancels that out. 😛
Thanks guys! I’ll make it seem less important. 🙂

I’ll definitely work over that line and see if I can enhance it a little… it’s funny, because I didn’t really see that line as anything all that special or out of the ordinary, but now that you mention it I can see it has potential. 😀Yes, one thing I forgot to mention is…[Read more]

Haaaaa… that’s hilarious, Daeus. I saw another one of Ted Cruz as Captain America. 😛
