Today I read Deuteronomy 5 and 6, I’ve been reading 2 chapters each day now since I got into Deuteronomy 🙂

Hey! Yep, I’m still doing this! I’m fine with bumping it down to one or two chapters a day. Maybe we can tweak the amount we read depending on what book we’re in (like if it’s a shorter book we could read a few more pages a day)

My favorite couple I’ve ever made (my fave charries honestly, shh don’t tell the others XD) are Ro (short for Rory) and Alyssa. In their present timeline they’re dating, and they fit the grumpy x sunshine trope to a tee.
My favorite couple outside of my own characters is probably Tarzan and Jane; I love their relationship so much! 🩷
How about you?

Honestly, I write some of both, but more often than not I’m working on a contemporary romance 😁. Recently I’ve sprinkled in some fantasy too. And same, I always feel like the only romance writer! It’s awesome to meet another one!!

*pops in from nowhere* Hello! I’m Marie and I’m very excited to meet another romance writer!
I love clean book and movie recommendations! Some topics I’d personally be interested in are tips on spreading the Gospel, maybe something about keeping things from becoming idols, or how to glorify God in everything we do. Those are just some ideas I could think of—coming up with topics is harder than I thought XD
It’s super nice to meet you! 😁

I love this topic!
Something God has really been opening my eyes to these past few days is keeping an eternal view. I worry and focus so much on what is temporary, treating it as if it matters the most. A few nights ago I read 2 Corinthians 4, and it really resonated with me. Paul and the other apostles went through so much: scoffing, ridiculing, beatings, and some of them were even martyred; but they never gave up their faith. They knew what was the most important. Paul even said in Philippians 1 that to live is Christ and to die is gain. He counted everything else a loss for the sake of Jesus! (Phil. 3) He looked through an eternal lens, a lens that focuses on Jesus and the eternal life He’s given to us who believe. I want to do the same. I’ve been reminding myself to look at the big picture these past few days, and it’s eased some of my anxiety, and put certain things in my life that aren’t eternal in their place. (Also it’s pretty humbling to remember who we are in the grand scheme of things, and it’s amazing to realize what God has done for us out of love, even though he doesn’t need us ❤️)
I’m also looking at writing on an eternal scale. While my stories might not become the next C.S. Lewis and go down in history, their impact is still eternal in some ways. The connections I form while writing, the message that reaches people—those things will last. I’m taking my role as a writer for God’s Kingdom more seriously (or at least I’m just beginning too 😊).
Hope this encourages someone else!

Yep, I read Genesis 49, 50, and Exodus 1 today! It’s working great for me!

Hi! I’m joining YWW today, so it’s funny that this came up! I love this idea!
I’ll submit my character Alyssa; she’s a sixteen year old girl in a contemporary rom-com that I haven’t written but floats around in my head constantly XD

It’s nice to meet you Natalie! I’m hoping to write more this weekend too; I actually just got done with a sprint 😁

I thought Abraham’s love for Lot was admirable. From letting Lot choose where he wanted to go to keep peace between them (when they had to separate), to coming to save Lot after he’d been taken captive—I thought it was good.
So true!
Also, for the first time I noticed how much rebellion was actually in the picture—especially in Esau. I never knew that Esau married the daughter of Ishmael… or that he did it AFTER he heard Isaac tell Jacob NOT to marry the Canaanites. So he knew well enough that they displeased his father, but he did it anyway. (Genesis 28:6–9, btw). Personally, I thought it was interesting.
That’s an interesting point. That part kind of stood out to me too, but I didn’t think about how it shows so much rebellion
Great points! ✨💛

Hey guys! Just wanted to hear anyone’s thoughts on what we’ve read so far! (If I’m right we’ve read through Genesis 30? Please correct me if I’m wrong XD) Any verses/chapters stand out to you?
I’m doing my reading on the Bible Project app so I can read their notes and hyperlinks along with the readings (I’ve never done that before and thought it might teach me things I wouldn’t have seen on my own!) Something I’ve noticed these past few days is how all of these characters: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, etc; all of them were broken. That sounds obvious, but I’ve always heard the “big” stories, like Abraham’s test to, ahem, give up Isaac. He obeyed. And Jacob is literally who the Israelites are named after. Learning about how Abraham tricked people on multiple occasions by saying Sarah was his sister, Isaac doing the exact same thing, Jacob being a lying cheater most of his life; it made me realize how broken we are.
But it also made me realize how God used them, even though they were broken sinners. Some of the most famous people in the Bible, people who God blessed abundantly, are as broken as me. And God still used them. He still blessed them. God can use broken people to accomplish His will. His love and mercy amazes me.
Anyway, that turned into a rant XD. If anyone else has anything they wanna share, I’d love to hear other’s thoughts on what we’ve read so far!! ❤️

Hello! I’m Marie, and it’s nice to meet you! I’m pretty new here myself 😊
I am a semi-avid reader who spends too much time daydreaming about her characters to actually pick up a book 50% of the time, I love romance and primarily read and write Christian romance (but I’m very interested in fantasy at the moment), and I love God and strive to grow closer to Him every day!
Questions!!:
How many WIPs do you have? Which one are you currently working on?
Who’s your favorite character you’ve made?
Assuming you like The Wingfeather Saga, who’s your favorite character and why? (I just started reading/watching it myself, and I really like it! So far my fave is Peet, he’s so sweet but so sad, I feel bad for him 😭)
And lastly, what’s your favorite book of the Bible?
So excited to get to know you! God bless!! 🩷
