Autumn Rebecca started the topic The Hope That Remains Despite Illnesses in the forum Poetry Critiques 2 years, 7 months ago
Hola! I need a little help with this poem. I want to post it on my blog, but I want to make sure that it is good enough. Do the rhymes keep a good rhythm? Does it pull on the emotions? Any thoughts? Is it worth posting or should I trash it and try again?
8) Lord, You are removing my chains,
10) So why does illness kill my hope to fly?
6) Am I…

Woah. I thought I had written a lot of sibling relationships, but I can honestly say you’ve beaten me.
And yeah, two friends so close they could be brothers pretty much counts as brothers in my eyes.
Since you have written many brother relationships, have you written any sister relationships in your stories? And if you…[Read more]

Okay, y’all, so I recently finished my YA fantasy novel.
*cues the high-pitched screams*
But my next project is a middle-grade novel featuring a 12-year-old MC who gets herself into all sorts of scrapes.
The problem is, I’m not naturally a humorous writer. It’s something I’m trying to work on in this story, true, but a very not funny writer…[Read more]

Hello, one and all! For those of you who are newer, we used to have some topics called “Writer’s Corner” or something like that, but I’m far too lazy to search for the previous ones or consult how many of these we have been through, so we can just start a new one.
This thread is just a place for off-topic chats, where we can talk about our day or…[Read more]

Lovely poem!!! It looks like @thelobsterlover and @power did a phenomenal job explaining everything, so there’s not much for me to say, other than great job! 😀

I think this is my latest reply on record. 😬 Sorry. I have excuses, but let’s not make this reply any more delayed.
To the reply…
G. K. Chesterton’s essays are pretty good, and I’d definitely recommend them. You know his style if writing from The Man Who Was Thursday (our father read part of that to my siblings and I years…[Read more]

@thelobsterlover I’m glad Dune gets the help he needs. And I get the antagonist-but-not-villain thing. I don’t think I’ve used that yet, but I think I’ve heard of it.
And thanks! Actually, the character I mentioned as being kinda cynical was an already existing character from a fandom. But the other one, she was entirely my creation, as were her…[Read more]

@thelobsterlover Oh, okay. These are humans with cat ears and tails. What’s your style like? I’d like to see a sample before I decide what character to send in…….

Keilah H. replied to the topic Let me draw your characters! in the forum Art 2 years, 9 months ago
@thelobsterlover Actually it was partially his fault, because he came up with the idea and I wrote it out.
Hmm….Since you mentioned warrior cats before, I take it you’re familiar with the series. I’ll pick a character from my fanfictions.
Are you better at male characters or females? I’m better at guys, strangely. I’ve only ever drawn 1 decent…[Read more]

Hey, sorry for not replying right away! I think your post got lost in my notifications!
Wow, you are such a great artist!!! Those drawings are TOTALLY Maria. I might have to ask you to draw my other characters too if you don’t mind doing more. Thank you so much for doing that!
Thanks for checking out my blog, too. I’m hoping to…[Read more]

@thelobsterlover Ack, poor Dune. He needs serious help. And Windris is a cool name. She’s your antagonist?
The one cynical character I had was from a fanfic, so he came that way if you know what I mean. He’s had some work on his attitude–spending time with the more optimistic character [an OC of mine] he’s supposed to guard has lightened him up…[Read more]

Hmm, forgiveness arcs…
First, huzzah for you book! Forgiveness is a powerful theme.
As for examples, I’ve heard that The Count of the Monte Cristo has an amazing forgiveness plot thingy, and Les Miserables has one too, if I’m not mistaken. Koshka already mentioned the others I can think of.

Hmm, forgiveness character arcs. There aren’t a lot of well written ones that I’ve read, but The Viking Quest, Broken Bow by LaJoyce Martin, and Ben-Hur (although I highly recommend listening to the Focus on the Family audiobook instead of the actual book) were all good. Sir Kendrick and the Battle of Belion, The Green Ember…[Read more]

@thelobsterlover Thanks! I’m trying to decide whether I should give you a character I made up from a fanfiction or a character from an original story….
Also, I love your forum tag. I do that all the time……ah, poor Feather, or Sheerasight, or Terabyte (although that one was my brother’s fault as much as it was mine). And then there’s the…[Read more]

Mitchel Kemp was drafted into the military, but he doesn’t want to be here, especially as his father had been killed in combat leaving him his little sister’s legal guardian.
A cream/grey marbled cat, green eyes, wedge shaped face (not unlike a Russian blue’s features), not tall or short or big or small, fur’s not long or short…[Read more]
