      I asked my dad and it’s a college. XD  Average class size is 13, so definitely small.

      (Got paid to go to college 🤣)

      Lol, nice.

      I think my interview went well. It was enjoyable at least, and at a coffee shop so I got coffee out of it. XD

        It sounds like you are going to a university?

        Is that different? And I think so…

        Something you may want to consider, check and see if there are any community colleges around you. You can typically take your core classes (Math, English, Government, US History, etc.) for half the price of a university, especially if you are “in-district” (basically, you or your guardian(s) pay college taxes) which can cut the price in half again.  (For example, at the community college where I work, an in district student would pay $90 per credit hr, out of district $169. At a state university 30 minutes away a TX resident would pay around $370 per credit hr, and a private university 15 minutes away ranges from $380 to $1,546 per credit hr)

        Just remember to check and see if the university will accept/transfer in the community colleges credits.

        I’ve talked to a person from there before and I don’t think they do transfers? I’m going to ask about that today and get some clarification. Their website isn’t clear on it. It is private though, and like 50,000 dollars a year…

                Thank you for the advice!

                @elishavet-pidyon

                Do you know what career or career field you are interested in?

                I plan on majoring in politics and economics. I might switch out economics for history, but economics is more likely to get me a job afterwards. I want to run for office at some point, but until I get to the US congress I’ll need another job on the side. Ideally I write political essays like the Federalist or something but those aren’t as popular as they used to be. XD

                Dress professionally but in clothes you would be comfortable in all day so they don’t add stress.

                I’m wearing a suit, which tends to decrease stress because it makes me look important and therefore feel important. XD

                Don’t be shocked by anything that’s not your problem to deal with but stand strong and confident in your own convictions.

                I’ve just been assuming everything is my problem and keep finding out it’s not…my parents told me yesterday that apparently no one expects me to be knowledgeable about the financial aspect which is nice because I’m not. XD

                Learn about the people around you. This is a great opportunity for daily story inspiration. 🤣

                Lol, yes. I have so many random people living in my head waiting to be characters.

                Also write down some questions to ask those who interview you. What are some things you have wanted to know or parts of the process that confuse you?

                I do have a list of questions.

                @koshka

                Colleges need students. They will be looking for reasons to make you pick them, not reasons to turn you away. They want you.

                They have a 20% acceptance rate though.😭😭😭

                With that in mind, having your paperwork together, dressing business like (literally like you mean business), and having a prepared list of questions for them (tuition? Financial aid? College life? Degree plans?) will make them want you as a prospective student and not just a prospective tuition.

                I have a suit and a list of questions, so I’m hopefully good with that…

                In short, if you look like someone who wants a degree, cares about your grades, and is relatively prepared to figure both of those out, you’ll do perfectly fine (even if you’re not sure what degree plan you’re going for yet).

                I hope so…

                Just having an interview is a big accomplishment. Good job! You can do this.

                Not really since I just signed up after hearing the admissions person was in town, but thank you. 😅

                @whalekeeper

                I may end up taking a gap year and doing the same so I can earn some money and also more credits to hopefully increase my chances at a scholarship.

                @power

                We (College Admission and Registrar folks) expect students to know very little about the process (even most employees at a college only understand their own areas well.) We are here for a reason, and will (hopefully) try our best to explain, direct, and advise you the best we can. As long as a student remains kind about it, we’re okay with them being/letting us know that they are overwhelmed, terrified, confused, shy, frustrated, etc. (We’ve helped and dealt with them all. 😉)

                Good because the only thing I know is that I want to learn stuff. 😅 I’m not even sure if I want to go next year or whether I should take a gap year.

                Expect a lot of paperwork/online forms.

                Oh dear

                Early on memorize your Student ID#. (Unlike me 😁)

                I didn’t even know that was a thing so…noted.

                In class try to talk with the students sitting next to you within the first day or two. If you don’t you probably wont.

                *cries in introvert* I suppose I shall attempt to be social.

                Like Elishavet said, look at the website. Read through the pages. Everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) is likely on there (Including outdated information 🙃).

                I’ve done almost nothing this week except obsessively stalk the website. 😅

                Also, if someone/an office is really helpful, let them know that you are appreciative. They will likely be of help in the future, and doing something that makes you stand out (they do likely deal with hundreds of students) and makes them like you can be very beneficial if you have a problem down the road. (We remember and protect those who brought us cookies. 🤣)

                Noted. XD I do make an excellent granola.

                  I have an interview with the college I want to attend on Wednesday. I’m terrified, and pretty much everyone I know went to college in the 1900s and they don’t know what’s going on anymore…Does anyone here attend college/attended college/have advice about this?

                    Hi! I’m interesting in learning about that book once it’s published!

                    I haven’t had much time for either writing or KP lately, between school, dance, and work. I’m a senior now so I’m trying to figure what I want to do with my life as an adult.😅 I have an interview with the college I want to go to on Wednesday so that’s exciting but also terrifying.

                      I’ve been really dizzy recently. This has been happening every time I get a cold, but this time there has been no cold and it’s really bad and impeding my ability to do anything other than sit around and feel sorry for myself, and accompanying it is a ton of pressure in my head and behind my eyes as well as ear pain. I’m going to the doctor tomorrow but the last few times I’ve been for this they haven’t been able to help beyond Advil Cold and Sinus medicine. Please pray for me.
