First off, Same Same Stars, like mentioned above. This song makes my dad cry

Who Wants to Live Forever  -Postmodern Jukebox cover (It’s West Side Story style which I’ve never seen XD and the singer has an incredible voice. I love this song)

They Can’t Take That Away From Me  -Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong (This would probably fit your time period too)

I think those three would work the best, but these are good too:

The Ghost of You -Postmodern Jukebox 40s style cover (This really only works with a death though)

Paint it Black -either the original by the Rolling Stones or Robyn Adele Anderson’s cover; both are great.

Deep in a Dream  -Frank Sinatra
