When I’m stuck on a scene, I’ll usually brainstorm out the problem. If something feels off or I’m really not getting into the scene, it really helps to dig down to the root of the issue before continuing. Yes, I definitely agree about not having to read heavy material all the time. Sometimes, if I read too much heavy stuff it weighs on me and even gives me insomnia. Not that heavier books are bad, (they can teach you a lot of things), but too much of anything isn’t good.
