Thank you so much for your advice! I found it really encouraging.
Thank you! I am so sorry I haven’t posted anything for like, 6 weeks … I’ve been in a real slump and kinda discouraged with everything about websites and my writing in general. It’s a but of hard spell for me … I’m at one of those places where I’m wonderi…[Read more]

Thank you so much for the advice! I might try that for different cultures/nations in one world! (I have three major ones, atm.) I have (*counts*) five different languages, besides the universal one (I think) and a similar amount of writing systems (based on the same basic runes, just different styles) and those come together with the…[Read more]

Ooh, neat! I have a culture that avoids living on land, too, with more Maori and Hawaiian influence on the language and some Viking inspiration planned for their culture (and their hair, because Viking braids are epic).
Thanks! Yours sounds pretty neat too. Viking braids are great. My sisters and I actually do a variation of one of…[Read more]

Isn’t it?
They are interesting. So, those particular cultures are mostly concentrated in the VoyageFolk. They dress like the Norse and the Rus, speak like the Rus, and live like the Northmen in that they avoid living on land. At all. (with some of my own invention to blend them all.)
I have found it intriguing to study (ha, ha, that…[Read more]

WORLD BUILDING!!
I’ll try not to rant too much.
I love world building, and the great news is that I have two WIPs with two very different worlds to form. Huzzah!
And I get to use them as excuses to read random articles on the formation of the Baltic/slav tribes, whether the Saxons used slings, and what kind of bread was…[Read more]

Ugh, I’ve got quite the list of those! XD

The book you say? Hmmm. I’ll have to say I haven’t read it, (or watched it, other than a few clips of the play.) but it definitely sounds interesting! All I’ve heard about the book is that it is completely different from the play (or musical, or any of it for that matter. XD)

Certainly! They’re all good, in my own most humble opinion. (Of course they are, ’cause why would I mention them if they weren’t? XD)
Scout, Riffles for Watie by Harold Keith, and Snow Treasure, are all not exactly classics. I think RfW was written around 1957, ST around 1942, and Scout was sometime in the 50’s-60’s(Not sure). A…[Read more]

Yeah, Classic lit. feels so much more grounded. It also feels a bit more comfy and homey to read. I do really like fast paced books, but slow paced books like classics are so relaxing.
Do you have any favorite classics?

Okay, y’all, so I recently finished my YA fantasy novel.
*cues the high-pitched screams*
But my next project is a middle-grade novel featuring a 12-year-old MC who gets herself into all sorts of scrapes.
The problem is, I’m not naturally a humorous writer. It’s something I’m trying to work on in this story, true, but a very not funny writer…[Read more]

Hello, one and all! For those of you who are newer, we used to have some topics called “Writer’s Corner” or something like that, but I’m far too lazy to search for the previous ones or consult how many of these we have been through, so we can just start a new one.
This thread is just a place for off-topic chats, where we can talk about our day or…[Read more]

Can we get this up and running again with brand new lines from characters? I still don’t really have many….but maybe we can expand this to be lines of not just dialogue but just very short bits of our books?
