Well well! This sounds very exciting.
What with my schedule I’ll see if I can get to writing.
Alas I have many woes upon me
For I know not much of the great bandicoot
But I shall try to research enough for some poetry
Well ta ta for now. The game is afoot!

@power This is honestly the best contest I’ve ever seen in all my years on the internet. And I’m OLD. (If inspiration strikes me, I shall try my very best to participate.)

Are my optical apertures beguiling our gray matter or is there a newby to nettle?[…]
@power, I haven’t the foggiest idea what your optical apertures may be conveying to your cerebral cortex, but you might at least spell newbie correctly.

Do they? Yes they do. Unfortunately, I don’t know what to give them. So, IÂ need some advice.
First, I have this idea for a new character. He has no name yet he’s that new. What I do know about him is that he’s about twelve years old and a slave to a soldier. He has seen many horrible things, including being forced to fight in battles against his…[Read more]

I will join! My poetry is usually sweet and whimsical, so trying to bend it into a piece about bandicoots will be interesting.

@power While I’m not a poem person, I looked up the pig-footed bandicoot and they are interesting animals! They’re extinct, though, sadly.

I’m late to the party, but I read your bizarre anecdote on Life, today. Your prose is remarkably distinct! It’s something akin to a P.G. Wodehouse in training, if you’re familiar with him, only more rhythmic and poetic. Excellent wordsmithing.

@godlyfantasy12Â Thanks for making this lovely topic!!
@freedomwriter 76 Wow I can’t wait to hear more about it. I may share my new WW2 idea on here soon too.
@power It was thrilling to read your work of art. I believe there is potential there. Keep up the good wits.

I enjoyed your previous anecdote about life. No tums, ginger, or dramamine required. I can see you have fallen very far down the rabbit hole. I would accept your challenge, though I am afraid I am much better at decoding cyphers than creating them myself.

Okay, so my plan for this is to have mostly third person, with just a few journal entries from my protagonist for this story. See what you think of this (rough draft) beginning! I’ll tag those of you who commented on it. 😉 Also, name suggestions are welcome!
