A desk job has never seemed more enticing. I guess my dream of becoming a advertising street sign holder will have to die. Its a so sad, but I must do it for the arts…
But in any sense, thanks for the tips! I will definitely be using them.
As for your question about what rhymes with orange, it’s Sporange. An uncommon, but very real…[Read more]

Hola! I need a little help with this poem. I want to post it on my blog, but I want to make sure that it is good enough. Do the rhymes keep a good rhythm? Does it pull on the emotions? Any thoughts? Is it worth posting or should I trash it and try again?
8) Lord, You are removing my chains,
10) So why does illness kill my hope to fly?
6) Am I…

😏 I suppose I could share a couple… I write about pretty much anything. I’ve written poems about the seasons, rain, time, some Bible passages, and many many others. I’ve actually published a couple here on KP. I also write in many different forms of verse, rhyme, etc. So I wouldn’t say I have a characteristic rhythm to write in. lol

I write fanfiction, mostly. I’m not the best with original plots, but I make original characters and sidestory fanfics to go with them like crazy. My brother is better at creating villain groups, cool weapons, and that sort of thing than I am. But I like writing little picture books (5 published already), and I’ve done a few essays.
Also,…[Read more]

This is amazing. I love how you painted such a strong image in just a few lines.
How long have you been writing poetry for? Also, have any tips for a beginner? You know, asking for a friend lol.

Hi everyone!
As you may remember, I recently started my blog. Many of you have subscribed, and I’m so grateful for that!
However, I’m struggling a little bit right now trying to learn how it all works. I’m quite new to the blogosphere, so I don’t quite understand some things, or I’d like advice on how to do them better. For example:…[Read more]

Oy, well, this took a little longer than I thought. *glares at loathsome procrastinating self, my LPS* I had meant to answer A LOT sooner, respond to each of you individually, and definitely NOT wait almost a full month before responding.
As you can see, that didn’t happen.
But thank you all so, so, so, SO, SOOOO much for the stories! I’m…[Read more]

How many sibling duos have I written? Oh boy, here we go …
*rubs hands together while chuckling*
So, I have a pair of fraternal twins in my current WIP, a girl and boy. (The boy is one of my main POVs.) Then I also have a pair of side characters who are brothers — I think they’re some of my favourite to write. Then my other main…[Read more]

Yuh, sibling relationships ftw. When is a story not better with a sibling, or sibling-like relationship?
Since it’s your favorite, how many sibling duos have you written, and do you have a favorite one you’ve written?
Yeah, there definitely is something special with brother friendships.
Maybe because it’s rarer…[Read more]

Yes!! I am attempting to have a sort of adoption story in my Eirtan books, but it’s a bit different, (a subplot) dwelling on the complexities of identity and personal callings.
And wow, that was a mouthful! XD
Exactly! Mentor-appprentice relationships and dark pasts are just… delectable. *Happy moan*
I love those too!…[Read more]

Ooo! I love that too! In fact, I have such a duo in my book series … and they’re also estranged brothers. They’re like the two most boss warriors in the land!

WOooOo Imma love this topic XD
I have a few, as it does indeed come from being slightly sheltered that one may say something not as innocent as they thought.
For example, I was texting this friend I had (not too long ago) and we were talking about life and stress and work stuff. And I asked if he was working all the weeknights.…[Read more]

Hey!!
Large casts of characters can totally work, and add a lot of depth to the story! The first book that comes to mind is the Silmarillion (which, if you’re a fan of complicated world-building, it’s a MUST READ). I honestly cannot remember HOW many characters are in that book (it is a fictional history book that spans hundreds–or…[Read more]

@power WOW!!! That’s incredible!! I do NOT have the patience for that heh. At all…but as for MC’s, I agree with @trahia-the-minstrel, though I’ve come to learn that it’s your book, your story, your series, etc. Do what you want with it! Wether it becomes famous or not that’s not what matters. What matters is if YOU’RE happy/proud of it!! What’s…[Read more]

It sounds like you’re writing epic fantasy — correct if I’m wrong — but if so having a larger cast isn’t bad. Read Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive series if you want to see a huge cast handled magnificently.
However, I would probably recommend that you keep the number of main protagonists to 3 or at the max 5 — just remember that…[Read more]

Aaaaaaand, since we can talk about anything, plz tell me someone here has read Jane Eyre and loves it as much as I do!!!! (It took serious self control to not put that entire last part in all caps…😂)
(Side note: @power, that was gloriously fun to read… XD)
