Ahh ok. that sounds fun! what movies/books have you done fan fics on?
You know… the ready-made part is probably what makes it hard for me; I love making new things, and trying to replicate artistic works (except accents and voices) really doesn’t work for me, be it characters or drawings and paintings.

sounds cool! Good for you! I have never succeeded at fan fics, but everyone is different and I appreciate writers who can take a character and make their own fan fic and it turn out really cool. From what you’ve described here and other topics, I’d say you must have lots of fun doing them! Keep it up! 🙂
I must admit… I love doing…[Read more]

thank you!
i do like those kinds of characters as well. After all, no one is perfect.
In this case it’s the villain’s fiancé/soon-to-be wife who defends him and yet criticize him. She loves him fiercely and the two are rather a funny pair, but it works XD. She’s got a quick temper and trust issues but once you have her trust,…[Read more]

I have unwittingly written many XD. I admit I automatically do that with characters. Maybe too much. I have two favorites.
The main antagonist, who I mentioned in the topic of the week, is the one I’m currently doing. I debating a few endings… but I decided on a positive character arc instead of him staying locked up in the far…[Read more]

Elfwing replied to the topic Questions on drafts and beginnings… in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 4 months ago
I do the same as @daisy-torres. Although, I do keep my first draft in a separate doc in case I reread later and don’t like my 2nd draft. I like to end a chapter mysteriously as possible and pick up on a different POV if there’s more than one. I like stories where the chapter ends in one charrie’s POV, and starts in a different one;…[Read more]

Well….. I am pretty basic with fonts… but as said by @writerlexi1216 changing fonts is like magic!!! It has helped me get past writer’s block, too.
@nova21 I wonder if it’s because it’s easy to do and something simple to control. It usually doesn’t take a lot of brainpower like story plotting does.
For all my books: Arial for…[Read more]

whoah… have you been talking to my friend???! She’s literally just been telling me I should write a spin-off series of my story with the characters coming into our world…
I may have to take you up on that advice
i would want to introduce them to a whipped cream canister and also Mountain Dew pop…. hehe
thanks!! I am so…[Read more]

ooo this is a great topic!!!
i am glad you could be kind to your villain… mine would be too proud to be beholden to someone he doesn’t know,
i would say I’m a character from his world in different form. I’d probably pretend to be his grandniece he thought he killed. He’s regretted it since and it has fueled a hopeless bi…[Read more]

google translate has been my friend lol
i look up an adjective/noun in a language I like, (Romanian, Gaelic, Punjabi) make sure it means what it’s supposed to, and with a bit of tweaking, I get cool names. Balar is my favorite; its from Romanian and means griffon/serpent, and Eala is from Gaelic and means swan. you get the idea. there…[Read more]

most of my projects are ones I don’t share with others, since I am rather conscientious about my work, so when I get stuck I like to brood in silence.
Either I sit and read or watch a movie, or I wander over what I just wrote before the roadblock hit. Try to figure out what I did that I don’t like.
And once I’m done brooding for a…[Read more] -

Are you kidding? Grace Johnson for an author’s name is amazing! Like I reference it to people and your site and it always sounds perfect. It reminds me a lot of Jane Austen or a Bronte 🙂
