If you pull it off in an interesting, believable way I think it could be quite the opposite of cheesy. I think it all comes down to how you execute it.

@whalekeeper *raises hand* I’ve never been published, and haven’t completed a book since circa 2015, and I’ve had an article featured on KO multiple times. You should totally submit one!!

If they’re comfortable and open, it would be wonderful to get their insights and understanding for an article on the subject!
I’ve heard from Autistic people online that autism is often misconstrued in media like books and movies. It’s one of many topics that a simple google search isn’t enough for. So if they are cool with it, an…[Read more]

@joy-calle Hey Joy! Welcome back!! Love the new pen name—it certainly suits you!
Your WIP sounds so cool!! I’m super pumped to hear more about it. Also, if you don’t mind me asking, where or what do you do for work?

Woah, you’re really well versed in the KP catalogue.
And the list of articles wrote out is super helpful. While I know what articles have stood out to me, I really wanted to see which articles resonated with the rest of the community.
One of the common threads and something you mentioned in your post) seems to be that the…[Read more]

@mineralizedwritings Hey, I know you don’t know me very well, but I just wanted you to know that I read your post and am thinking/praying for you. Family stuff is super weird and hard and scary—I think it’s super brave of you to post about it. I don’t know the exact details of your situation, but I can promise that things will get better. Y…[Read more]

Thanks for the input! I relate to what you said about being better able to understand the article’s message and points when they are specifically unpacking a particular movie or book. Plus, it’s fun to read about your favorite books and movies.
However, I think you may have misinterpreted my question. But that’s on me! After…[Read more]

@elishevet-pigeon I have literally nothing to help you out with (other than suggesting Fantasy Aloe Vera™️ but idk how much that would help) but my empathy for these poor charries is through the roof 😭 I hope their lives improve after such traumatic injuries!!

@kathleenramm You don’t know how tempted I was to be like: “these articles are the BEST I love all of them they’re all perfect :)” and then just link to all the ones I wrote when I was an intern. 😛
But seriously, I tend to just enjoy whatever the blog puts out. (I’m going to echo @gwyndalf-the-wise’s enjoyment of the movie examples). I suppose I…[Read more]

Thanks for the input! I think I know what articles your talking about, and yeah, I loved how much detail the author put into writing them.
Also, yes! Movie focused articles are some of my favorite as well.

Haha, that’s fine.
And yes! It would be awesome if a writer who is or is close with someone who is autistic could publish an article on how to write an autistics characters accurately.

Cool, cool. Character development, plot, and outlining. Got it.
Are there any particular articles on character development and plot that you liked? I’m looking to identify if there are any common qualities between people’s favorite articles on KP.

Hey! I need your guys’ honest opinion. I can’t quite say the reason for why I’m asking you this question right now, but I can say that it’s for a cool something-something the KP team and I have been working on.
What are your favorite articles on Kingdom Pen?
Whether you judge it on how helpful it was are from a per enjoyment stand point, it…[Read more]

Traditional publishing. A traditional publisher won’t charge you anything, they’ll only take a cut of the profit when your book sells. Spending money on marketing would be the only expense.
Yes, I used KDP. I tried IngramSpark for my last book and gave up because it was such a pain and way more expensive, so I went back to KDP.…[Read more]
