What’s the most recent valuable piece of advice you’ve been given about writing?
Almost everything I learned about writing is from my older sister. She’s legit one of my favorite authors and that’s not because she’s my sister it’s because her writing is just that good. So, of course, I often ask her for advice. Recently I asked her if she had a t…[Read more]

Kathleen replied to the topic Have you ever considered writing under a pseudonym, and why or why not? in the forum Topic of the Week 2 years, 9 months ago
Haha, yeah pseudonyms are a great chance to have the name you always wished was yours lol.
Also, I really like the meaning behind your name archer! It constantly gives you the reminder of what you are aiming towards. Plus, it sounds cool which is a bonus.
I 100% agree with you about it being so much easier being…[Read more]

@faith-q You need to write at least one short story under Vierra F. Spring, and no one will understand except that one person who laughed at you.

I was seriously considering using a pseudonym for several years, but I decided against it for a couple of reasons. One being that I started getting published when I was quite young, so my real name was already out there. I’ve won competitions under Chelsea Hindle, been published in magazines, and obviously did my internship here with that name, my…[Read more]

Also, if you just want to skip to the second chapter to read what i wrote, you can. You don’t need to read the first chapter to understand the second chapter.

Hey yo, not-so-secret fam!
Contrary to popular belief, I actually DO write from time to time. And it’s actually REALLY GOOD. No cap. Like, Tolkien’s got nothing on me. C.S. Lewis? He came back from the dead JUST to get my autograph. And Shakespeare has been real quiet ever since I have started writing. And that’s a FACT.
Anywaaaays. I’m gonna…[Read more]

Thanks for helping me understand a bit better!
Also, sorry if I sounded a bit “un-gracious” there, but I guess what I meant wasn’t anything against the author, but the story. (I’m also a terrible writer, and it would indeed be bad news for me if the notion of improvement didn’t exist). So to rephrase: If the characters, world, an…[Read more]

Have you ever considered writing under a pseudonym, and why or why not?
I have considered it, and I have done it… multiple times. For novels I will probably always stick with my real name, however I pretty much always use pseudonyms for short story contests I participate in online. Mainly Reedsy’s short story contests as they have cool weekly…[Read more] -

To be honest, I’ve never totally gone through this problem. At one time when I first started writing, I did a little bit but I never stuck with a story long enough that it mattered. XD My current series, The Heir Saga, is probably the one book I am the most in love with and is closest to my heart, but after the end of book…[Read more]

XD “Author’s madness” had got to be the funniest and most relatable description I have ever read in my entire life.
This is great that you’re making progress on your series. I remember reading some excerpts you posted from it that I still remember very clearly in my mind, you also had a ‘which character are you?’ Quiz on your blo…[Read more] -

@not-so-secret-secret-assassin
There’s a lot of interesting points in this post and a lot of things relevant to what makes a good story. So I think its awesome that you wrote this, but sadly, I have never read the Wingfeather Saga before, so I cant really give my input here. But now I think I’m gonna have to to see what’s up with this and find…[Read more]
