I don’t really have a good answer; I use the free version of Wordpress, which does still have some ads, I think, but I honestly haven’t noticed them, and if they pop up, they’re usually at the bottom of the page.

I looked at this and showed my sister, but I don’t think either of us will be doing it this year. My sister doesn’t feel ready to share the project she is typing up and her WIP she is writing on paper. I would also like to take a break from writing and focus on some other things.
