I’ll have to do something like that… Soon.
How long have you been writing verse? My first ‘poems’ were practically sets of rhyme and meter with nothing much in the way of meaning. They were TERRIBLE!
Maybe that’s why I don’t like jellybeans.
Ooo, that’s hard. I’ve read so many good books. Maybe Myles and Gascone from Men Of Iron, Shasta,…[Read more]

Hello there! I am Koshka, or at least that’s what I’m called around here. *gasp* Another Homeschooler… Hi!
You are publishing your first book? Awesome! I have yet to complete ONE of my many story idea, so not even close to where you are.I love poetry too, both writing and reading. My verse is rarely as direct as your Reading Poem.…[Read more]

Is this better?
Here voices scream, ‘You’re still in pain,
This Dream and Hope are all in vain.’

Thank you! My verse is just starting to feel right, if that makes any sense.
The voices are saying that. Would removing the punctuation clear that up, or do I need to do something else?
(YES, the author appreciates it very much!)

Song/poem I just wrote. I don’t know if it’s any good. It would be sung be a captive.
Sing of Tomorrow
My yesterday was full of fears,
Today is always drenched in tears,
But I’m still singing-
I want to see Tomorrow again,
Show me Tomorrow again.
The years have slowly ground away,
And night was gaining day by day,
Yet I kept…[Read more]

Ah, Wingfeather. I have finished the series and I love it, especially the end. There is so much under the surface in those books, so many deeper meanings. I am also a tad bit of an aspiring poet which thrills over Peterson’s well written verse.
My mother prefers the licorice one. Me, they’re one of the worst regular flavors of…[Read more]

It is confusing. But somewhere I heard that apparently if your book is set in some other world it atomaticaly becomes Fantasy. Whether or not that is true, it was helpful, at least to this beginning writer.
I don’t have anything against the type of magic in Narnia and Wingfeather, where ‘magic’ really just means God’s power…[Read more]

Oh my. Yes, I have considered putting an end to my writing endeavors. I have considered deleting/incinerating all my existing work. I still struggle over if being a published author is part of His plan for my life.
But the stories keep growing, deepening, branching out, untill they spill out in some form of other. I’ve tried to smother them, put…[Read more]

Ah yes, I write somewhere in that vague genre of medieval fantasy. Do you include magic or not? I honestly didn’t think I was in the afore mentioned genre as there is none in my books. But lo and behold, I am somewhere in there alright. -

Hello! I’m a homeschooler as well. I have recently (sometime during the last six months) found the Wingfeathers. I write medeaval fantasy, historical fiction, and Poetry.
Your WIP sounds interesting. I haven’t read any dystopian, and the only true Scifi book I have read was Thorny Twins. =] My brother has read some of both.
So, do…[Read more]

The Lady Sapphire
In 672 a ship containing military and political secrets goes down in a storm. Most of the people on board escaped, including the captain, his wife, and their daughter (Wynfred). But the Lady Sapphire is lost beneath the waves, taking with her the keys to a kingdom.
The year is 821, and the country is on the…[Read more]

There’s only one book I completely ditched (As in, although I had figured out most of the plot, I stopped writing and will most likely not restart.).
I called it The Lady Saphire, after the ship wreak the whole book revolves around. It wasn’t a bad storyline, it probably had a lot of potential, but lacked purpose. It was deleted when the c…[Read more]

What I like about the first book?
- The writing style. It reminded me of classics; something I can’t find enough of.
- The antics. Sure some of the cliches got to me, but they were well written ones. Besides, a cliche is only an overused good tactic.
- The characters. Their troubles were relatable and not overdone. Some of Janner’s mistakes…
