Jodi Maile replied to the topic Wow, is anyone on here? in the forum Film 2 years, 10 months ago
@hobbitchild @hallie-jean Hellooo, everyone! I actually have been interested in doing screenwriting for a while now, so I guess that counts as being interested in filmmaking. I have yet to actually write a script, but I’m devoting my summer to learning more about screenwriting/filmmaking so I have a clearer idea of where to start. I love…[Read more]

I can see this is from a long time ago, so I have no idea if you’ll see this!!! But, hi!!!!!! I’m here! A little late to the party, but recently I’ve been interested in making my own TV show and possibly posting it on YouTube.
A documentary sounds cool! I’m not a huge fan of documentaries, but one about a theatre camp sounds pretty…[Read more]

E. K. Seaver started the topic Wings First Three Chapters in the forum Novel Critique Requests 3 years, 2 months ago
Hey everyone, so Wings is a story I’m working on (and am probably going to end up having as another serial story on my blog), but I’m struggling with the first little bit. Is it engaging? What do you think of it? Where do you anticipate the story going? How do you feel about the characters?
Critique as brutally (*cough* Dark chocolate *cough*) a…[Read more]

ella started the topic Lioness: Chapter One Critique in the forum Novel Critique Requests 3 years, 2 months ago
Hey people!!! I finished my first chapter of Lioness (YA, futuristic speculative fiction), and I’d LOVE it if y’all could read and critique it for me!!! It’s about 2000 words long. And please please please don’t hold back on critiquing–I’m trying to become a better writer so I absolutely need to know what has to change. (
And besides, I can…[Read more] -
SeekJustice replied to the topic Rock Climbing Scene…Help! in the forum Plotting 3 years, 2 months ago
Yep, that’s a completely believable scenario. I once went abseiling (like rock climbing but opposite) and I actually did fall off the cliff. Thankfully though, harnesses exist so no harm was done and I just had to climb back up again, but if I’d been in the position where I didn’t have a harness for whatever reason, I would have been…[Read more]

Ooh, that sounds like a great scene:) I’m writing a couple of scarp scaling scenes too, but since it’s set in the 9th-century era, I wouldn’t be much help with the lingo.

Kads replied to the topic Rock Climbing Scene…Help! in the forum Plotting 3 years, 2 months ago
@hobbitchild I think what you have is great! The only things I’d add would maybe be to describe the stumble of the falling character and the split second reaction, just to maximize the scene! Example (I’ll use random names here): Dillon handed Hayden the harness, and as he pushed it into his hand, Hayden stumbled. His eyes widened, mouth ope…[Read more]

When I made this topic I was expecting to read some interesting stories, but I must say, I was not expecting a to read story about going out to lunch with Gollum. XD Entertaining nonetheless. 😀

@godlyfantasy12 Great idea! I did an indie author post last month, so some of KP’s published authors listed their books on that post (find it under “Indie Author Day”).
1. Definitely check them out! You can find a lot of us on Goodreads too! We’ve all got some great books out there!
2. No, it won’t be perfect. BUT you’re not the only one who’s…[Read more]

@r-m-archer Girl, I am JUST like that! And who said not to read your own reviews? I mean, how you s’posed to know what people thinkin’ ’bout it? You need to understand what you did good or not, so that you can grow. In fact, I have a tendency to stalk my readers and then quiz them about my book(s).
