Rory
Rory followed Leo’s gaze and saw the picture of a young man. He looked weary and depressed. He was making his way down a dusty road, his head bowed. But, just beyond him, a man was running down the front walk of a grand mansion, his arms open wide. Rory leaned on his arm, and his eyes drifted back to the picture of the shepherd. He…[Read more]

XD I’m glad you love him.
*Shows Leo your message*
Leo: *confusion*
(Also, this wasn’t easy to write without going on a 300 page praise break at the end. XD)
Leo
Rory’s fingers dug into his armor as much as was possible. Leo’s eyes went wide. Panic flared. There wasn’t a lot of blood, but how much could be hiding in the…[Read more]

(I’m gonna cry! I want a Leo in my life! Where’s my Leo? 😭)
Rory
Something inside Rory broke at Leo’s words and tears spilled down his face. Not the violent, desperate, broken sobs he had cried before, but gentle tears. The way Leo’s hand rested on the shoulder, the way it had felt against his forehead–– Rory had never known any…[Read more]

THE FIRST ONE!!
Talk about that after you PUBLISH the book! You’ve read it a thousand times and so has your editor, you both read the first printed copy, catch all those mistakes, and then you make the big order and start selling them, only to see mistakes! *sobbing*

Uncounted times in my life I have entered the children’s section of our library, see The Tale of Despereaux sitting in it’s place, displaying that adorable cover. I wanted to read it for that cover, but somehow I never have.
I think we saw the movie (or something like it enough that my brain is confused) at my aunt’s house. It w…[Read more]

I agree! I also think it’s important for the children to see their parents doing those things, too, because they imitate what is modeled to them (especially young children).
Totally!

Leo
“Leo, why did you come? There’s nothing left. I’m tired of running and I’ve got nothing else to live for.” The kid’s eyes were dull with too much pain.
Leo felt his throat seize up, but he fought it down. Combed Rory’s hair away from his sweat flushed forehead. Night was shadowing the church around them, but Leo could sti…[Read more]

I think it was a combination fo the letter and how Amelia was protesting at the beginning that she was not having plague symptoms.
hmm. Okay, do you think I should take out that part in the letter? Or should I just leave it and let the reader be happy that they guessed a plot twist or else shocked that they didn’t see…[Read more]

Thank you for taking my feedback so graciously. It’s hard having stances like this, (and many others) that seem silly or foolish. I think you’re the first person to take something like this that I said and not turn around and try to bite my head off or attack me. A lot of times people will ask me questions like this, and I’m…[Read more]

Yes, but magic is real too. The Bible says so.I think one of the most dangerous things we can do is view it as unreal and harmless.

@theducktator @linus-smallprint
My thoughts are not that a reader will be tempted to use magic. It’s just the fact of putting those images in their mind. Same as why we don’t write super graphic scenes or Rated R type scenes. It’s not that we’re worried the readers will graphically kill someone or commit adultery if they read it, it’s the f…[Read more]

Oh, I almost forgot!
That section you just read has some HUGE changes for Joseph. What are your thoughts on where he has just arrived spiritually? Any thoughts on the connections he’s starting to make and the fact that he’s seeing the truth?

Woah! You hit me with a lot. *goes and re-reads sections to see where you are*
Okay.
When Amelia started feeling unwell, I kind of suspected she might be pregnant.
Yeesh! It looks like we were wrong.
Okay, why is that? Was it just because that seemed logical, or because you thought I was above killing a girl, (I’ll have you…[Read more]
