Or nicer. He’s less two-faced, and only encourages people to betray and warp each other after his great success in the first because the latter failed for him.
If that made sense.

Wow…she definitely sounds interesting. Let’s give it a try, shall we?
Although, my “villain” is around 30 years of age, and a bit of the Bonifer Squoonish type, just less nice. He’s the military governor of the Dorwain province of Eirtan.
Just that last sentence makes me want to call the eagles.
*Realizes that only makes…[Read more]

I too feel that I have spoken much on this thread. However, I concur: we need a villain.
My “villains” are a high ranking prince (official, not son of a king) and a couple vague ideas concerning generational curses, addictions, fears, and the father of lies.
I doubt any of the latter would work, but maybe the first may in a…[Read more]

Isn’t it?
They are interesting. So, those particular cultures are mostly concentrated in the VoyageFolk. They dress like the Norse and the Rus, speak like the Rus, and live like the Northmen in that they avoid living on land. At all. (with some of my own invention to blend them all.)
I have found it intriguing to study (ha, ha, that…[Read more]

Sure! That’s fine with me.
By the way, I’m also considering adding in another character, considering the lack of girls. It’d either be one of Viktor’s sisters (Alyona) or an MC from the other series I’m plotting (Winifrith).
But I might not, we’ll just see.

WORLD BUILDING!!
I’ll try not to rant too much.
I love world building, and the great news is that I have two WIPs with two very different worlds to form. Huzzah!
And I get to use them as excuses to read random articles on the formation of the Baltic/slav tribes, whether the Saxons used slings, and what kind of bread was…[Read more]

Themes are so neat! I love finding little hidden lessons in the books I read.
Now, adding them isn’t always quite so easy, and I know I have a long way to go before my stories properly portray their themes. (I have to write them first, for one… 😉 )
But I agree with the others: multiple themes are fantastic and best when they all work…[Read more]

He thinks he’s 13, having but one year before the monumental year of 14, in which he is considered an adult, (although, yes people understand he’s a young adult, and treat him likewise.)
He’s actually 14, but that will only be important later in the book, so yeah, he’d say 13.

When Kilied thought of Viktor as an innocent young boy, it made my mind spin with ideas.
Viktor is so broken and yet so healed. His is the story of how
“Your fears were given you to teach you courage,
Your brokeness so you could know healing
Come, my son, it’s time to remember Who our Shepherd is.”
Uh, random quote from…[Read more]

It is funny.
Sort of strong self control, but we were reading other series as well, so…
Aww, good. I love Viktor.
And guess what? I made a mistake too. Even after going back and redescribing him, I failed to mention his interesting backstory of loss and adoption, and the fact that he has burn scars up his hands to his…[Read more]

As Viktor walked up to the two, his eyes were tempted to stare at the serpent, but something about this boy caught at him.
He was tall, tall as the Woodmen, and as dark too. As dark headed as Viktor himself. Surely he wasn’t Yartian.
“Sure. Everything’s good.” His accent was strange as well, not lilting at all. “Who are…[Read more]

I know, right? There is such a difference. It’s really funny now, though, because I’m like,” Wow, I thought that was an insult, but now I see it’s a compliment that is of all things good for story prompts.
Yeah, I have to be careful what and how much I read. My sister and I literally spread LoTR over a year because of all…[Read more]

Yay! I’m glad it was somewhat helpful, infact, I think it helped me!
Yeah, that sounds awesome! If it’s what you think your story (or charrie) needs, then definitely go for it.
And I will admit, I love it when a character lives. I mean, yes, it’s extremely powerful when they don’t as well, but why else would I want to show…[Read more]

Ok, I’m back, because I don’t think I described him accurately. Another try, shall we?
Viktor: ’54” but growing (eventually), dark brown hair that’s beginning to curl, but isn’t yet (all that part was right, it is cut in the Yartassite style which was described above). Olive toned skin, keen dark brown eyes. Tall straight nose that is almost…[Read more]

Viktor popped another auleive into his mouth and adjusted his mantle to catch the rising breeze.
And shade the auleives. He hadn’t brought them up here, out of their nice cool brine, only to let them dry in the sun.
Spring is almost over, soon the grain will come in. Then we will…
But why think of that now, when the earth spread out below…[Read more]

Ah, fantasy. I will admit, magical fantasy isn’t my strong suit, as I can find it to be to engrossing (and I’m waayy too much into history to keep my hands out of medieval fantasy, which is technically my genre.). But I love Narnia and have enjoyed LotR.
That is a hilarious question, mainly because, before I read t…[Read more]
