Ok, let’s see…
The American Girl Stories: they were meant for a young audience, and I see them as such. I still like them, they’re just….
Little One, Maid of Israel: Biblical fiction taken flight. Sweet story, not satisfied with the ending.
But honestly, it’s been a while since I reread anything beyond classics like Northanger Abbey and The…[Read more]

Ah, yeah, learning more about mythology and history can really change your perspective on things.
And as much as I like Narnia, I always lean towards Tolkien as well. I love his worldbuilding and writing style, and yeah like you said his originality when it comes to both mythology and story. So many people have tried to replicate it,…[Read more]

That’s kinda funny, because that’s the same opinion Tolkien had on Lewis’s work! Tolkien also didn’t like The Chronicles of Narnia very much because the mythology didn’t make sense.
Although I love The Chronicles of Narnia, I get why it wouldn’t settle right for some people. It does do a lot of crazy things with mythology that might…[Read more]

Thanks! Your book sounds cool! And I totally get what you mean — self-publishing gives you a lot more control over everything from the cover to the content, from what I’ve researched.😊

I’ve been enjoying everything I’ve read so far:) Like, I love in your second character article where you talk about temper and impatience, (it sparked up a new scene idea for my villain. Even though he is on the more nonchalant side of things, he still has anger blowups). And it was fun and relatable reading from your perspective on thi…[Read more]

Hi *waves* 🙂 S0 author keeping author’s promise; here is a refreshed link to The Lost Manuscript, which does include all four, to-date installments, (I just never posted a new link which *facepalm* was stupid on my part). Anyway, just a reminder that my offer to completely ignore this post is valid, and you may want to consider taking the offer s…[Read more]

I am consistently writing a fantasy series that has two main POVs, who are are equal main characters. Occasionally I will have one off chapters or scenes in another of the main characters’ section POVs, but only when it’s absolutely necessary.

Trahia the Minstrel replied to the topic Why do you write? in the forum Topic of the Week 4 years, 4 months ago
Your reasons for writing are quite similar to mine!
I write because1. I love telling stories and I always have, even though I didn’t enjoy writing until I was about 11, when I decided to write a fanfic about a Mario game.
2. I write it express my pain and work through things that are hard for me. Because I’ve suffered grief, most of…[Read more]

Sameo!!! My siblings have always been my partners in crime XDyeah, when you write from personal experience it definitely has a different impact on the reader. It’s more relatable and accurate.

I loved your story, especially that first section! It had me hooked!
I love Faeda and Sathor’s relationship. I thought they were brother and sister in the first except, but in the second I realised they were just good friends. That’s really refreshing to see.
What genre is your book in? And what age range?
Also, have you con…[Read more]

He’s so cute and I laughed all through Tyroll’s awesome prank. Like I could just SEE it all happening so clear, Sathor groaning and looking at his sleeve and mortification on his…[Read more]

Here’s the premise I’m working on for my current novel:

Yeah, I can relate to Sunday’s being the only social days!
I’m just thankful I had a huge property to explore and spend time running around in and lots of pets/animals to play with!
Same! I have a protagonist who is 15 going on sixteen. It’s kinda like I write about the MC as if I was them and was put in a different and exciting…[Read more]

@kathleenramm I get ideas from all kinds of places. My first fanfiction was literally inspired by a picture of a boat I saw in a magazine. And I get ideas from dreams all the time, like the one about dinosaurs that were used by police when I had a dream I was at a police station and they had a whole pen of gallimimus dinosaurs to ride. That dream…[Read more]
