What exactly are personas in this context, @scripter-of-kingdoms? ‘Cause, like, I technically have another persona floating around the interweb. She’s basically the side of my personality people see when they first meet me—basically the embodiment of the slytherin stereotype. (There’s a reason stereotypes exist.) And her name’s a play on m…[Read more]

Hey everyone, so Wings is a story I’m working on (and am probably going to end up having as another serial story on my blog), but I’m struggling with the first little bit. Is it engaging? What do you think of it? Where do you anticipate the story going? How do you feel about the characters?
Critique as brutally (*cough* Dark chocolate *cough*) a…[Read more]

Okay,Â
I was about to start with “who among us hasn’t had the experience of trying to figure out who to tag for beta readers” but remembered that some of us haven’t finished our WIPs.ÂWe all will need beta readers at some point. It’s inevitable. But it can be really hard to figure out who you should tag and who might be available to read your s…[Read more] -

@nova21, also, I wasn’t trying to be mean with any of my comments. I generally edit/critique in a very straightforward manner.

1) Is this engaging? Did it hook you?
Yeah, mostly. It has a lot of potentials. It’s a first draft, so it’s obviously going to be messy, and there were a lot of times where you could have used “show-don’t-tell” but the premise was good.
2)Â Is the MC interesting?
Yes, certainly. I would have liked to know her name a little sooner, th…[Read more]

I figured I should put this as an update:
The poem I wrote about “wishing I were hurting like you were…” Well, be careful what you wish for.
Cuz sometimes you get it.
And I can confirm, it does hurt to be the person at fault but it’s a different kind of pain to be hurt without reason.

@scripter-of-kingdoms, if you’re possibly a criminal mastermind and I *might* be plotting how to overthrow the government, maybe we should team up? ;P

@e-k-seaver Yes. We should. 😀 What should we call ourselves? We need, like, some kind of club/team name…

I had a beautifully elaborate response planned out to both @godlyfantasy12 and @gracie-j but then my internet decided to go out right as I was sending them so I’m just going to do summaries.
1. Grace— wings should be ready for betas sometime later this year.
2. Grace— there’s a popular YA novel called One of us is lying and idk if that would…[Read more]

@devastate-lasting it it’s supposed to be humorous to a degree; the tone of the book starts out as humorous and naive and ends with the main character having learned a lot about the world and being kind of depressed. The second book she’s really depressed in and has to learn to deal with her depression, and then the third book she manages to find…[Read more]
