I wrote this poem a long time ago, but since it’s just been sitting there, silent, and since several of you have said you like reading my poems because they’re entertaining, I thought I’d just let you read it for fun. 🙂 So here it is:
The Ballad of Private Poe

@daeus @rolena-hatfield @moderators…
Is there a way for me, or for one of you, to change a post AFTER the five or so minutes is up? There is something important I want to change in my latest KPA post.

It is commonly just called the Catwing Council. You can say that. 🙂
I always thought we all lived there…

@daeus Ooh! Those sound interesting!
Have you ever heard of or seen the movie The Insanity of God? Your post reminded me of it. I would recommend it! but I don’t think it’s out yet… It’s about a couple of missionaries spreading the Gospel in the African Muslin country of Somalia. It’s really exciting and tugs your heart. 8 out of 10.

I am proud to present:
A Dog in the Kingdom of Pen
Part 1: Into the Kingdom of Pen
Warren Luther blinked, staring at the computer screen. He tapped a few keys, and the computer flashed as pixels were transformed into the words “WarrenLuther04.” His password and “tag” soon appeared on the “Account Information” page of kingdompen.org. Warren slid…[Read more]

@daeus Thanks!
@mnvalentine Okay. 🙂 Oh…you’d be surprised…. 😀 😀 😀 *barks* My dog (in real life) almost caught a squirrel once, she was so close we had to call her to save the squirrel. But don’t worry, I won’t bite you. 🙂

@dragon-snapper Thanks! The Wiser’s name is Josiah DeGrande, right?
@kina-lamb @daeus @emma-flournoy @kate-flournoy @aratrea Are you guys okay if I make you characters in my KaPeeFer lit series A Dog in the Kingdom of Pen? You’d be in Castle Regnis and Eskrey, of course.

@Rochellaine That. Is. So. Messed. Up. Good gravy. I’ll definitely be praying for you guys, and I’m glad everything is working out alright.
@Daeus Hey, not sure how I missed it, but I was just reading back through several pages of this thread and I saw the request you made about depression. It really struck a bell, because I’ve been feeling…[Read more]

Hi, everyone!
So some of you might know a little about my WIP, Allora, and the struggles I’ve had with it over the past few months as I’ve tried to get a grip on the characters, world, and plot. Allora has given me nothing but problems since the idea came to be, but this most recent bout…ugh. Lemme explain.
The first thing you need to know is…[Read more]

Another one of my favorite parts. For good reason. Mwehehehhh…
The GIF-Hiders: An Easter Story
Part Nine: Disbelief
“Halt!!” barked another new voice. “Halt in the name of the law!”
Jenna pulled her palms from her eyes, and peeked at the troll, who, much to her relief, hadn’t squashed Valentine. His foot was in mid air, and Valentine…[Read more]

@daeus Yeah, I’ve heard of that film festival! A couple of recent alumni from the college I go to had their short films screened at the CWVFF. The films were Who Is Jade, Grounded, Character Study, and Created and Redeemed.

@rochellaine I love this, and don’t have much critique other than what @daeus said. Adding imagery would make the poem more complex and add to the dragon’s meaning, and the triumph over it at the end. But it reminds me of one of my favorite quotes about fairy tales:
“Fairy tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but…[Read more]

@daeus, hmm… I don’t know. I guess Christian fiction would definitely be an option. I tried historical fiction before, but it didn’t work, because I did not plan it out well. I also wrote from a villain’s POV in the book I am writing. That was fun. 🙂

@daeus Thank you! That makes sense. I have realized a few times recently that I don’t know much about imagery, so I guess I’ll have to work on that.

@sam-kowal Thanks. That’s okay. I probably should ask someone like @daeus shouldn’t I?
Oh, wait…I think I just did. 😀

The GIF-Hiders: An Easter Story
Part Eight: Up a Tree
Having just hidden a Star Trek GIF, Skredder suddenly lifted her head. “Earthquake,” she simply said.
Everyone looked at her. “What?” said Valentine.
“Earthquake! An earthquake’s coming!” Skredder repeated.
“She’s right! I feel it, too!” called Catwing from a tree branch.
“But earth…[Read more]

@daeus Thank you. I knew a bit of that, but I wasn’t sure. As some of you people know, I didn’t do the best job on Nikko….so I was a bit wary.
@jenwriter17 Thank you!

Yes. I can do that.
Great. Would you mind changing something?
On part 9, where Jane says “It seems you are an Evil Overlord,” could you take out the word “evil?”
Thanks!!
Done.
Thanks a lot 🙂
