So this is a little random, but it’s a collage I made today of my book! I’m not settled on the title yet, but just recently I gave it the name of ‘Fortitude’, which I think is fitting. That’s sort of on the fence still, but for now, that’s what I have. Hope you guys like it! 🙂

Oh my flying flapjacks! We have some talented writers over here! *applaudes* Everyone’s writing is totally incredible! Very well done to all of you! First drafts can be both freedom and constriction at the same time. You’re free to write and make a mess because that’s what second drafts are for, bu…[Read more]

Hullo, new writing friend! 🙂 Do you like coffee? *offers a cup* It’s wonderful to meet you, and oooh, your novel sounds interesting! I’m such a fan of those genres, too! Fantasy is my all-time favorite.
I have some additional questions (forgive me if other people asked these already)…
1. How long have you been writing?
2. Who is…[Read more]

Yikes… I’m sorry to hear you have the same problem! 🙁 Pacing is a mystery, that’s for sure 😀
Oh, I know, right? Character arcs in general are wonderful, but redemption arcs? Even better. I like them so much that I included it for one of my characters, Newton.
I’d have to say that my favorite character is either my MC, Caira…[Read more]

Well, I haven’t shared much of my writing in quite a long time, but I think that today might be the day to start doing so again. Thus, here’s a bit from my WIP, The Drakesbanes (from the POV of one of my narrators, Tinumali):
Jamanuk’s face hardened. Ignoring Horace, he jabbed at the paper in my hands. “As you can see, your highness, this is a co…

I don’t know why the ending of that post turned out weird… it must’ve duplicated or glitched 😀

Oh my gosh, thank you! 🙂 I’ll try my best at a description…
She’s around 14 (maybe 15) years old, first of all. She has pale skin and long, wavy blond hair that goes down her back. She normally has her hair down, but sometimes she braids it at the back (like a waterfall braid). Her eyes are dark grey. If you’re…[Read more]

@scripter-of-kingdoms Whoa!! What a gripping prologue! I’m already so intrigued–what are Bren’s bad memories? Where is she going? What’s going to happen to her family now that she’s gone? What happened to Blue? (Wonderful name, btw.) So many questions! 😀 Though heh, I also have a character who’s tentatively/temporarily named Bren, so that was a…[Read more]

@issawriter7 Thank you for sharing! I really enjoyed reading your excerpt. Heh, what else are we writers for but to torment our poor charries? 😛 That’s such a cool story behind the name!! I’ll have to listen to the song now. 😀

Oooh, this thread sounds amazing! I’d love to sketch out my MC, but unfortunately… let me just say that would be a bad idea XD If anybody’s looking for a project, I’d be happy to give a description of my MC! 🙂 (BTW, the drawings on here are fantabulous!!)

@godlyfantasy12 This is such a wonderful idea for a topic!! Spreading encouragement around is such a beautiful thing. 😀 Thank you so much for sharing your excerpt!! Your character names are fantastic, for starters. November especially is so unique; I love it. 😀 I just want to give all of them a hug though–it sounds like they need it. Your…[Read more]

Oh my flying flapjacks, this is a hard question. For starters, I’ll tell you about my joys of writing. I think of all of my fictional characters as my friends, so I get excited to see how all of them progress throughout the book and how every character arc unfolds. I like to see how they redeem themselves and become better people. I…[Read more]

I feel like I haven’t stopped by the WIP chat in forever and a half! How’s everybody doing with their books? Also a very hearty hello to all newcomers! *lifts coffee mug*
I just started Act II of my book, and whew! It’s getting into the meat of my story (sort of), so that’s been a little difficult. Also I decided to make things complicated (as I…[Read more]

You are definitely not alone in this struggle, let me assure you. I’ve had those moments of feeling down about myself or my writing and just getting tired and pushing myself to write too hard in general.
I know what it’s like to have a burning desire to write that oh-so-special book, but when you sit down to try, your head goes…[Read more]

That’s so cool that you like LoZ!! I’m currently looking fondly at my bullet journal, which has not one but two Zelda stickers on the cover. Are there any other video games/game series that you’re into? 😀 Plus, faemàtle is such a cool name f…[Read more]
