@nanisnook Woo-hoo!!!! You did great!!!!! 😀
I’m . . . uh *cough* . . . getting a little writer’s block. So, I’m going to take a break now. My sorta last line is:
“Get to work!” I shouted.
Thank you so much for writing with me!!!!!!!! 😀

Ah, I totally understand about college reading lists. And I would recommend The Book of Three by Lloyd Alexander but you’ve already read that series…
If you like historical fiction (and are okay with a legal thriller) I would suggest The Trials of Kit Shannon by James Scott Bell! It’s a series about a girl in 1903 who is trying to…[Read more]

And when I persisted, he grudgingly sent me here, saying if I found some gem, he would crown me king.

@lewilliams Yeah, I get that. I’ve been trying to read more, too!!! Alrighty, *rubs hands together eagerly* I’m always down for giving out awesome recs. I don’t know if any of this will interest you, since I’m normally a loner in the books I enjoy. XD But I just recently read Fawkes by Nadine Brandes and Dust by Kara Swanson and they were SO…[Read more]

Jodi Maile replied to the topic Writing and Jobs in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 5 months ago
I would write and choose to have another job. I’m a firm believer that you won’t have many good experiences to write about if you don’t go and experience them in the first place. Having another job can introduce you to new tasks, new team dynamics, and new personalities to observe and learn from. Also, having another (interesting) job can…[Read more]

Hello Seth! Welcome to KP. My name is Jodi and I like writing fantasy too! I also write historical and dystopian fiction.
If you could go to any place in any story you’ve ever liked, what place would you go to and why?
Welcome again and I hope to see you around the forums! 🙂

That’s so cool that you love ASL so much. I love Jo March too, and I loved the 2019 Little Women movie! Have you watched that version of the story?
The World War II era is so interesting! There are a lot of possibilities for writing in that era, which is what makes it such a popular historical fiction setting I suppose.
Welcome again! 🙂

Issabelle Perry replied to the topic Keep going or jump ahead? in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 5 months ago
Well, most of the time I just push right through it, but if a scene’s coming up and I don’t know what’s gonna happen AND I just don’t feel like writing it, I’ll just put: something really cool happens and move on. I’ve only ever done that once, tho, so it’s no a super common thing for me. 😉
