I totally get wanda and vision seeming a little odd. I think because he is played by a real person, it doesn’t freak me out. They actually have to add the uncanny valley affect in post to make him look less human. But story wise, yeah I would never write something like that, I get it.

Gus perked up at the voice, and almost immediately relaxed, his trembling, fleecy body easing to a soft quiver.

He stood up, and faced the giant cat.

The cat’s pelt, streaked with light and shadow, rippled with muscle as it flinched back. But, after a moment, it padded a few steps closer.

I have done a small amount of this because I write comics. Because you have narration, dialouge, and action all in the same writing, you can use colors to differentiate them. If you can’t use colors, try something like this.

For coloring, starting with a solid color on everything first really helps. If you try to shade and highlight as you work, before you have a base layer color down, it’s a lot harder.
