Adverbs. Like happily, cheerfully, sarcastically — especially on dialogue tags. I thought this made my writing more beautiful and descriptive, but then I learnt that you should use string verbs and nouns instead of adverb and adjectives, where you can.
Like, for example: “I can’t believe you betrayed me!” Tom said
angrily.If he’s saying tho…[Read more] -

Hi @jodi-maile 😁! It’s great to meet you!
My ocarina is also a Zelda-themed Ocarina of Time. It’s dark blue with the Triforce emblem on the mouthpiece guard. I think it’s epic you have a whole collection of them! Don’t you just love all the ocarina tunes from Ocarina of Time? My favourite tune to play is Song of Time, and my favourite tune to…[Read more]

Thanks, @kathleenramm 😊
I taught myself to draw when I was little, it was my greatest passion before I got into writing. I watched a lot of YouTube tutorials by a guy called Mark Crilley to get me started, and then gradually practiced more and more, using how to draw books and stuff. I used reference pictures to create the Arslan image, obviously…[Read more]

Hi, @sarah-anson
I love your idea of making clean manga! I would also love to do this with my WIP novel series too!
And your drawings are soooo good! I love the mask on the first guy (or is it a tattoo?) And the pose of the third one with the girl makes me feel so wistful and mysterious! And the coloured one is just downright gorgeous! Love how…[Read more]

And second:

This is a design for one of my characters that I’m working on. He’s nowhere near finished, though😅. I’m hoping to have a whole section on my website (when I manage to finally crack down and get it web worthy to put up) devoted to art of my characters. I think that’d be fun! Have you guys ever done stuff like that on your websites? -

Hi there everyone! I’m a new manga/anime artist on the forum, and I thought I’d share a couple of my pieces.😊 I have a lot of trouble staying on track as an artist, because I’m always writing instead, but these are a couple of my works:
First:

This is fanart from the Heroic Legend of Arslan.

Aye, (oh dear, this is what happens when I start thinking medievally) I understand about the username thing. We are all varying degrees of our pen names. Truly, someone else on here can’t really be a dark-furred, fluffy snake-eating creature. It’s the thought behind it all …
About being a twin, let’s see. First of all, there are different…[Read more]

I know right? It’s nice to meet you too! @elishavet-pidyon, I think I pronounce Iertan like this: (Ier [like in ier in heir] tin.) Though sometimes I do slip and say it like (Yier-tin)
My tale is about this —
A Usurper’s Heir. A True Prince. Two Families, One Kingdom …
… But What If Each So-Called Prince Were the Hero?
What If Neither We…[Read more]

YOU HAVE AN OCARINA?! WHAT ARE THE ODDS?!
*Ahem*
In answer to your questions😁:
1. I wrote things when I was little, but I’d only get a few pages in, if that. I really hated long-term writing until I was about 11, when I became obsessed with the storyline of Super Paper Mario and wrote a whole fan fic series about i…[Read more]

Hi there, @trahia-the-minstrel, it’s very nice to meet you!
That is so funny, what is your tale about, and how is lertan pronounced? Here’s a bit more on Eirtan: [eeir tahn(r is flapped with EIr said farther back in the mouth)]a country, the head in the two brother-nations of Eirtan and Yartas, main enemy? Dorwin.
I would be glad to help, if I…[Read more]

Oohhh! We call that Nationals. I’m not sure about other districts,(Alaska Yukon sent only one team this last year.) but Texas sent 4 Senior Experienced teams to the 2021 Nationals. (I don’t remember the number of teams for the other divisions.) -

Hi, Madelyn!
I love a lot of those authors too! The knights of Arrethrae series made a huge impression on me when I was younger, especially Sir Dalton’s one.
I think your WIP sounds really cool!
I love the stories about royalty.

Thanks?
Otto’s accent is supposed to be German influenced, but my more recent book is Russian and may have bled over in the rewrite. Both German and Russian have a ‘v’ sound instead of a ‘w’, and no ‘th’ sound. I don’t speak German, so I’m not as familiar with it. They do sound similar to most people. Russian is spoken from the…[Read more]
