Also with how things are going it looks like we’re gonna learn about some of Nyx and Lyn’s trauma in this AU before some of my other charries!!

 

so unlike my series, in this AU, Ridley is actually more of a villain, and not an Antagonist.

 

in my series he’s a good boy kinda gone bad with some bad decisions, and in the end he’s brought back down to earth realizing his mistakes.

 

 

this AU however? He’s a bad dude….

Corvina

Two boys had left….right after Adolphus.

Trouble.

Trouble always followed Adolphus.

It followed any of Edrich’s company really…

She leaned back in her chair, eyeing the clock as the teacher spoke, her mind wandering.

She tapped her desk, eyes wandering to the windows on her left side. The sun was…bright today.

Too bright, she scowled. A bit of overcast would’ve been just fine with her. She let out a breath of hair, sending a strand of black hair flying.

Her eyes drifting from the sky outside to the courtyard view through the windows. A few students were milling about during their free time, though most were inside in classrooms.

She frowned, turning back to stare at her fingers, when something caught her eye.

Her eyes returned to the courtyard, spotting a small group of students near a corner of the school.

There were four, three boys, one girl, crowded in a tight circle.

Corvina’s eyes narrowed.

A gang bang…

At least…that’s what some kids called it. Name sounded kinda stupid to her…but, it got the job of invoking fear done.

She once again went to return to her own business, when a flash of tousled blonde hair peeked from the center of the tightening circle.

Her mouth opened slightly into a deep scowl. She pushed her tongue into her cheek in annoyance.

Please don’t tell me….

She leaned closer to the window.

 

Leather jacket. Black skinny jeans. Oh goblin guts….you’ve got to be kidding me. 

She threw herself back in exasperation.

“Miss Nadir?” The teacher spoke. The class went cold. No one dared to look at her. Even the teacher seemed uncomfortable calling her out, but she cleared her throat. “Would you like to share something with the class?”

Corvina simply glared, stood to her feet, and walked out of the room, leaving the teacher a stuttering mess.

 

 

Honestly…this school really needs a backbone.

 

 

Arthur (MA BOOIIII!)

 

“Listen fellas,” Arthur smiled, flashing his signature grin, “I’m sure there’s some way we could figure this out without…ah…you know…having to get anyone else involved!” He held his hands out in front of him, in a form of surrender.

He could feel his back already hitting against the wall behind him and his mind began to race, thinking of any possible escape route.

His eyes quickly dotted to an opening between one of the burly young men, but it was quickly covered.

Ah wizards….

He should’ve known they’d expect him to try an escape…

He was pretty slippery…if he did say so himself.

He swallowed the sudden fear rising in his throat. “O-Okay…so negotiating not your thing…right….well, I assure you…this whole business with Edrich’s already been settled! You…you can go ask him yourselves!” He offered, still grinning like a cat.

 

This…also didn’t work…as the three bullies just silently stepped closer, pushing him fully against the wall. He chuckled nervously, sweat beginning to form on his brow.

 

“Well, if it isn’t our resident thief,” A female voice spoke. Arthur’s lips quirked as one of the boys stepped aside, revealing a tall young lady, with wild brown hair that had a singular white streak in the back. She wore a warrior-esque top, with fur that covered the tops of her shoulders, and a skirt with chain mail. She placed her hands on her hips, smiling, eyes almost…

Wolfish…

 

Arthur tried his best to force another smug smile, but he couldn’t keep his face from paling.

“Kainda! Long time no see! How are you doing? How’s Edrich?”

Kainda’s eyes narrowed, her arms crossing. “He’s well. Be better if he could ease his mind about a certain…item he lost…”

“Oh, he’s not still mad about that is he? I mean…that was years ago! We were kids….I know that Edrich, being the…wonderful person he is, wouldn’t hold a grudge…right?”

“Flattery isn’t going to get you anywhere, Arthur.” Kainda growled.

He shrugged. “Worth a shot.” Kainda shook her head, fists clenching as she returned to her side. She stepped forward, nose nearly touching the blonde’s. Arthur wished for a moment he couldn’t merge with the wall.

“You’re lucky you know…luck you’ve lasted this long…but now?” Kainda flashed a small smile, looking around. “I don’t see you’re friend anywhere…”

“Y-Yes…about that-“ Arthur cleared his throat, nervously shuffling with how close the dangerous young woman was to him. “You know…I thought that we had a bit of a deal…when it came to…you know…trying to obliterate me.”

Kainda smirked, “Ah, ah, ah. We had a deal…but it’s a new year, remember? And…well… Edrich and Aramis have decided that…” She shrugged, pursing her lips, “They don’t want to wait much longer….they’re not exactly patient people.” Kainda gently touched Arthur’s cheek, making him shudder, “So, they’ve made a new plan! See…they’ve decided that…as long as you’re little girlfriend isn’t around….you’re free pickings!”

Arthur’s eyes widened slightly, heart beating rapidly.

That…changed everything….

 

“And…” Kainda looked around. “I don’t see her now…do you?”

Arthur blinked, at a loss for words, his throat suddenly dry.

For the past few years, the fear of Corvina had been able to keep Edrich and Aramis’ people off of him…wether she was around or not….

They didn’t touch him…it’d been the only way he got this far unscathed….

 

Now….if she wasn’t around…constantly…

Well…

 

Arthur winced as Kainda backed up, allowing the three boys once again to enclose around him. Arthur shut his eyes.

Ah…not the face! Not the face!

 

 

A deep cold suddenly passed through the group, sending a chill down Arthur’s spine. His eyes snapped open.

He recognized that cold…

And boy was he happy to feel it…

He roved past the boys, searching for the cause of it, eyes landing on a dark figure approaching the group. He smiled madly, beginning to wave.

“AH CORVINA! CORVIIIINNNAAAA!” His brows were creased despite his smile as he looked at the group surrounding him and he gave an awkward chuckle.

Corvina approached, brows furrowed and lips pulled thin.

She did not look amused.

Kainda stepped back, arms crossed.

“Well. Hello Corvina.”

Corvina stopped once she reached them, eyes looking at the group of boys, who kept glancing nervously at Kainda, and then at Corvina. She glared at them, and quickly, violently motioned with her hand for them to move, making them flinch.

They stepped aside. Kainda glowered, a small growl in her throat.

Corvina looked at Arthur, eyes still glaring as she motioned him forward. He quickly shuffled to her, a smug smile on his face as he looked at Kainda and her lackeys.

“Well! Suppose we’ll have to finish this some other time!” He waved. “Uh bye!”

Kainda’s growl became even more guttural. She watched as Corvina and Arthur walked off.

“One of these days you’re not gonna be around, Corvina! Better hope your little boyfriend has a good doctor on hand.”

Corvina shot her a look, making the shadows around her quiver.

The boys with Kainda hunched back slightly, but Kainda didn’t move, though her expression didn’t flinch slightly.

 

Corvina and Arthur walked away.

 

Arthur sighed, and then laughed, placing his arms behind his head. “Took you long enough!”

 

She didn’t answer.

 

Arthur raised a brow. “Aww…come on…don’t be like that Cori!”

Suddenly, he let out a cry, bounding forward a few inches as Corvina forcefully smacked him on the back of the head.

“YOW!” He rubbed his skull, pouting.

She glowered. “Seriously? You can’t keep out of trouble for five minutes?”

“Hey! I didn’t do anything! They approached me.” 

She shook her head, sighing. “Why did they, anyway? They never-“

“Ha…yea…about that-“ Arthur filled her in on what Kainda had told him. By the end, Corvina’s fists we’re tightly clenched at her side.

“Guess I’m going to have to get like a beeper or something,” Arthur smirked. Corvina wasn’t amused. “Ah, come on. It’ll be fiiine.”

“Seriously? You do realize I only saw you out there by chance, right? Despite what you may think, not everyone follows you around, worshipping the ground you walk on.”

He gasped. “You mean…you’re not following me around? And here I thought  I just had a loving stalker all these years.”

Corvina rolled her eyes to the sky. “Whatever.”

“Oh come now…we all know you adore me,” he wrapped an arm around her shoulder, which she very quickly threw off. “I mean…who wouldn’t?” He dramatically flipped his tousled hair and smiled, making Corvina roll her eyes.

“Please…”

“Oh, don’t act all oblivious, Cori!”

“Don’t. Call me that.”

He pouted. “But it’s so cute!”

Corvina’s lips pursed and she glanced away, making Arthur smile. He could just make out the faint splotches of pink appearing on her pale skin.

“Look, I’m serious. Kainda’s right. You’re gonna get hurt soon.”

Arthur sighed dramatically. “Not when I have an incredible bodyguard like youuuu.”

“I’m not your bodyguard.”

“Girlfriend then?” He raised his brows suggestively. Corvina scowled, face flushing slightly.

“No.”

“Alright, then just friend?”

“Psh. More like acquaintance.”

He looked at her, catching her gray-blue eyes with his hazel. His smile softened. “Well…unless I’m mistaken…Just “acquaintances,” don’t go out of their way to protect one another for three years.”

Corvina was quiet for a moment.

 

She turned to look at him, a smirk now on her face. “Maybe I just take pity on you.”

And with that, she turned and continue on.

 

Arthur grinned, shaking his head.

 

 

Gosh, did he love her….

Riker

Riker bit his lip as Grimm turned to face him. Riker shrugged. “I…uhm…I don’t know many people in this school yet…heh…”

Footsteps sounded, and Riker turned.

“Hey Riker! How are you doing?” Erich asked, a girl at his side. But it wasn’t Ellie.

The girl smiled faintly. “So…you’re Riker? I’m Esther, Erich’s best friend.” The girl introduced, brushing a strand of her black hair behind her ears.

Riker shook her hand. “Yeah…I’m Riker. And this is Leo, Grimm, and Nyx, friends-”

“Oh my! What happened to you?” Esther asked, suddenly rushing over to Nyx.

 

(and…somewhere else…)

Jakob

Jakob walked down the hall, Reuben at his side.

They had the same class next.

“She seems nice…you like her…don’t you…?”

Reuben turned on him with flushed cheeks. “What!? No…I mean…I like her…but not like that!”

Jakob merely smirked. “Oh yeah…?”

Reuben’s eyes narrowed. “Come on, Jakob! Even if I did like her like that…I’m not…the only one…” He winked.

Jakob sighed and shook his head. “I really shouldn’t have told you about her…should I?”

Reuben laughed and shook his head. “Probably not.”

Jakob laughed, just as he heard a voice.

“There you go, freak! Cry. Cry…you’ll never be enough! You’ll never be loved!”

Jakob glanced at Reuben, and they both ran.

“HEY! What’s going on over here!?” Jakob demanded, as the wolf turned to face him.

A Wolvin, as Jakob had heard from a few other students.

The Wolvin smirked. “And why would it matter to you…?”

Jakob heard sobbing from the closet. “Who’s. In. There!?”

The Wolvin laughed. “Like I would tell you.”

Reuben glanced at the closet, and he gasped. “Hope’s in there…” He whispered, eyes filling with much concern.

Jakob’s fists clenched and he turned on the Wolvin. “Let her out. Leave her alone, get out of here, and don’t let me find you bullying anyone, especially her, again.” He snarled, but the Wolvin merely smirked.

He began slowly walking towards them. “…Is that so…?”

“Yes…it is so.” Jakob replied with a glare.

The Wolvin merely smirked and without a word, grabbed Reuben by the collar. “Ah! Hey! Let me go!” Reuben yelled, trying to fight back.

“Let. Him. Go.” Jakob ordered.

“And why should I?”

Jakob’s heartbeat increased.

Reuben was in trouble…about to be hurt…and Jakob likely couldn’t do anything.

Just like so many times.

But he wasn’t standing down now.

No matter what it costed.

“Put him down…or else.”

The Wolvin laughed and smirked. “Or else what…?” He held up his arm, ready to slap or punch Reuben, and Reuben’s face went white as his eyes went wide.

Jakob wasn’t going to let him hurt his brother.

He punched the Wolvin, hard, right in the face.

The Wolvin fell to the floor with a groan and dropped Reuben, who ran into the closet. “Hope! Hope! It’s me! I’m here…it’s me, Reuben!”

Jakob glared at the Wolvin, just as he stood again, blood trailing from his nose. “You’ll pay for that later, boy…”

“Go on ahead! Go tell a teacher! See if I care!” Jakob yelled after him, as the Wolvin ran off.

(and the Wolvin can tell a teacher if you want. I need to have some more stuff with Jakob anyhow. XD)

Ahhh…just a lot of searching, girl…a lot of searching. xD Specifically, I search for, like: “anime boy with dark brown hair and blue eyes” for, like Riker, as an example. But mostly I just have to search through a lot of pictures, lol. XD

“What in the-“ Nyx’s face flushed red as the girl, Esther, rushed over to him, bending down to get a better look at his face.

Gently, she lifted his chin, scanning the bloodied spots on his temple and lip. Nyx’s brown went wide and he shuddered at the touch, pulling away.

Her mouth formed an “o” and she quickly stood back up, blinking. “Oh…I’m sorry, I didn’t meant to scare you…”

Nyx’s eyes went wide, face scowling, “Scared?! I’m not scared.” Nyx glared. He couldn’t help but notice the small smile on the girl’s face.

 

It was a smile he’d seen before from people…people who thought he was just…sooo adorable.

His nose twitched in anger…though, that probably only made him look more adorable…

He crossed his arms, looking away.

“Ah, Nyx here had a run in with Edrich and his boys….” Grimm frowned, staring at the boy.

Esther gasped lightly, eyes softening. “That’s terrible! Did they hurt you too badly?”

Just as Nyx said “No,” Grimm answered, “Yes.”

They both glared at each other.

Erich chuckled at the tension. Esther raised a brow in confusion.

“I’m not hurt.” Nyx insisted.

“Don’t think I haven’t noticed the way you keep wincing everytime you breathe.” Grimm retorted. Nyx glowered, glancing at the others, who just nodded their agreement.

He huffed, annoyed.

“That doesn’t sound very good…” Esther mused, frowning. She clasped her hands in front of her.

“No, it doesn’t. In fact, we were just discussing what to do about it.” Grimm said. He looked at his watch. “We’ve got a break before the next round of classes start. But we can’t go to the nurse.”

Esther gave a bit of a confused look. Riker explained.

Esther shook her head. “That’s awful. The nurse should be completely unbiased!”

“Agreed. But…that’s the way things seem to work around here.” Grimm sighed.

Erich turned to Esther, “Hey…maybe you could help.”

“Hey…maybe you could help.” Erich said, turning to face her.

Esther slowly nodded. ‘Lord, help me to do so,’ she silently prayed. She smiled. “Yes…I can help as much as I can…and after school…my father is also a doctor…we can take Nyx to him.” She turned to face Nyx with a small smile. “So, Nyx, can I check on you? That way you don’t have to go to the nurse’s office…?”

Nyx’s ears twitched.

“Yea…no.”

“Nyx…” Grimm crossed his arms. “I will call Jocelyn.”

Nyx scowled, canines showing. “You wouldn’t!”

“She’s already going to come looking for you. Actually, she’s probably already searching every inch of the school. I’m surprised she hasn’t called yet. And you know for a fact that once she gets here you’re not going to have any choice in the matter.”

Nyx hissed, eyes flaring slightly. “I’m telling you, I don’t need some random chick telling me if I’m okay to go to my next class. Pretty sure I’d know if I was or not!” Esther frowned slightly.

“And I’m pretty sure you’re stubborn as all get out!” Grimm said, voice raising slightly. He pulled out his phone, unlocking it with a single swipe.

Nyx’s ears drooped slightly and he crossed his arms, nose raising in disdain.

After a few seconds of silence. And nervous twitching. And tapping on Grimm’s end.

Nyx finally conceded.

“Okay! Okay, fine! Just…don’t get Lyn involved…!” He whined, tails swishing.

Grimm put his phone back in his pocket. He gave a smirk, “I’ll tell her you were a very good boy.”

Nyx hissed. “I hate you.”

Grimm placed a hand on his shoulder as the boy slid his hands into his pockets. “He’s good.” He addressed Esther. “Do you want to do it here or…?” He looked around at the open hallway.

 

Nyx was still mumbling.

“Lyn! Wait up!” Eva called from behind.

Jocelyn paused, realizing she’d been running. She smiled apologetically. “Ah…sorry Eva…I just…”

“No, no, it’s okay,” Eva smiled, catching up to her. “You’re worried, I know. But don’t worry, Grimm’s with him, remember?”

Jocelyn sucked in a breath, nodding.

Yea…Grimm was with him…

And…he’d protect him…he always did…

She smiled, he’d heart warming and fluttering in her chest.

“You really love each other don’t you?” Eva smiled. “I can tell,” She nudged Lyn slightly. Jocelyn laughed. A jovial laugh, that released some of the pent up tension in her chest.

She nodded. “We do! I doubt he’d let anyone else hang onto him like I do…” She winked. “He acts real gruff but…he’s secretly a big softie.”

“They usually are,” Eva laughed as well.

Jocelyn sighed, feeling a bit better. “Thank you Eva.”

Eva nodded, “Anytime.”
