It is what it is. I’m just saying, my character has witnessed some things, and this is supposed to be a chill high school AU. *Shrugs*

I just realized that Wren would have heard this whoops. I guess she just has a lot more respect for her witnesses’ privacy or something lol

Loopy, I guess Wren does. XD I was giving her opportunity to be nosy sometime if she wanted, but she doesn’t have to do anything with it.

“Oh, sure!” He glanced around, mind clicking through faces like an old time moving picture. Arabella and Jocelyn would probably have been good picks, but they weren’t available most of the time these days. They needed privacy for their group anyway.
His gaze landed on a tall, pink haired figure who watched the room’s goings son with the air of a freelancing guardian angel. Reúven pointed him out.
“Marcel over there is a good subject. He’s broken up fights and rescued people. A bit of a hero around here, especially for the vulnerable kids.” There was a quiet respect in his voice that he didn’t try to hide. Marcel deserved it.

Aw thanks so much!! That’s really okay XD I was just bored when I posted that and I knew I was doing it in the middle of a conversation (where I only knew half of what was occurring). I was expecting it to get a bit lost in the mix of everything lol! And thanks again. Hehehe.

Wren nodded and wandered over the boy who had been pointed out.
“Excuse me, would you-” She had to stop and start again louder to be heard over the shouting and squeaking rubber balls and tennis shoes. “Excuse me, would you be willing to answer a few questions for the school newspaper?”

Lol. He’s not exactly nefarious, and he’s good at coming up with excuses. I could have made him more suspicious, but I didn’t realize how hard it would be lol. This was a lot of fun anyway. Wren is a great character!

Marcel had stopped playing to stand in the bleachers. His arm was scraped, and he was a little out of breath after playing for so long. No matter how good he felt after exercising, he always wheezed afterwards, worse than a boiling tea kettle.
His hair lay damp against his forehead. It was in an awkward phase where it was long, but too short to tie up. Maybe he should get some braids done; braids were a common style for his strain of Baztian blood.
The other kids were doing well. His team had collected themselves, and looked more confident as a whole. One of the smaller girls, someone he had defended during the game, waved up at him. He waved back.
“Excuse me, would you be willing to answer a few questions for the school newspaper?”
It took a moment to realize who the words were for. Marcel glanced around, and his eyes landed on the young woman from earlier. She was a journalist, then. Gently swiping a lock of hair from her face, she held up a notebook, and her eyebrows came together in an intent way.
“Hi.” Marcel smiled. “Sorry, I didn’t hear you there. You… want to interview me? Right now?”
Not sure if this should be art sharing or not. I’ve been working on sketching to develop character styles and decided to do Reúven in this AU. (Although I forgot his freckles.)

There he is! Quite thoughtful looking, indeed. Gentle. The dear fellow could be so much more brash if he wanted to, but he’s too good. That’s my impression of him.

She glanced around at the game, realizing that even though her mission was important to her, it was likely an inconvenience to those more focused on PE. If only they understood what was at stake. But she tried her best to be accommodating.
“Now, or whenever you have the time.” She handed him one of her cards. “But it’s only a few questions really. It shouldn’t take long.” She looked at him hopefully.

😂🤣 I get it. I feel the same way. The best way to make someone’s art feel seen and heard is to interpret it. Even if it’s not perfectly accurate, it means you’re actively thinking about it.

Marcel read the card, then looked back up at the young woman. “Wren Tallow. You’re asking me about the deaths, aren’t you?”
WrenDeaths. This caught her off guard. Wren had heard about many things like the bullying problems, non-students getting arrested on campus, and the dumpster fire supposedly started by students, but there had been absolutely no information about any deaths. She nodded and swallowed, trying to look less shocked than she felt.
“Yes. What… Do you know what happened?”
