Kathleen replied to the topic song lyrics critic and ideas for next verse in the forum Poetry Critiques 3 years, 3 months ago
Woah, this is awesome! I love the rhythm and the adventure-esc feeling to it.
The only suggestion I would have is to add some more specific details about your world or characters in the song. Like something that shows that this poem could only be written in this world, or by these characters. Like lyrics about a specific event,…[Read more]

The groups haven’t even grown out of hypothetical-hood yet, and Palpatine wannabes are already taking control smh.

Woah, great ideas! Don’t be surprised you end up seeing these things come into fruition in a very hypothetical way for a very hypothetical idea.
Ooh, those are really cool ideas. Both could even be fun things we could do here on the forum or blog!
Like a contest where the someone posts the first chapter,…[Read more]

Also, pay no heed to Mr. Zuck. I was just looking through things I had saved on my computer and thought this was funny, lol.

Okay so I haven’t been super active on the forum lately, (tragic I know) but I return with a very hypothetical question. (Trust me this is very hypothetical and not in anyway going to impact the future of Kingdom Pen)
Say Kingdom Pen had a writing groups for each of the three types of writing we publish on on here, Short Stories, poetry, and…[Read more]

Kathleen replied to the topic Hey y’all! Mind if I get some help? in the forum Characters 3 years, 4 months ago
Woah, it’s really cool how your writing a story for your friend. To have someone write a book specifically for you, man, that’s special.
As for your question, the best thing I think to do is talk with the person you know who is a single father. And maybe, if it isn’t too touchy, mention that you are writing a book with a single father…[Read more]

Kathleen replied to the topic I discovered a great book series all of you should read!! in the forum Book Discussions 3 years, 4 months ago
Nice! It was one of my favorite series growing up. But when I read them there were only three books in the series?
Huh, I guess the author decided to write a couple more because of their popularity. Are the last two books in the series worth reading?
Also, I’m quite curious, what would your ranking of the five books be?

Lin replied to the topic Writing out of chronological order? in the forum Plotting 3 years, 5 months ago
@joy-caroline I usually write from beginning to end of a book unless there’s a pressing scene I wanna write, though those scenes aren’t necessarily in chronological order. It just gives me a better sense of progression than jumping around, though ofc you’re free to do whatever you want.

Lin replied to the topic Does anyone else write sci-fi? in the forum Sci-Fi 3 years, 5 months ago
@microphage6032 It’s about a guy who’s brother becomes a serial killer so he goes out to find him, but the only problem is everyone thinks he’s his brother. A retelling of the prodigal son, Cain and Abel, etc. It’s set on a different planet and there’s some things here and there but otherwise not too many sci-fi elements in it.

@ava-blue Yea, I have a cyberpunk AU for one, and school AUs for others, but I only really work on them when I’m super bored.

Lin replied to the topic Does anyone else write sci-fi? in the forum Sci-Fi 3 years, 5 months ago
@microphage6032 Sounds a little like Cells at Work, heh. Right now I’m working on a sci-fi novel, though I wouldn’t necessarily call it full sci-fi or my main genre.

Sure, girl! I’d LOVE to help you out if I’m able! (Conversational scenes are some of my favorite so I’m very excited!!!!) Anyway, the email you know of mine works great for me (I’d rather not put it here where everyone can see it, but if you don’t remember it, then I can share my author email instead.)

Glad you found what you needed! I have to say I’m quite intrigued by the snatches you explained about the story and the scenarios! Your book sounds really cool 🙂
I’m afraid I am not much help with writing stuff most of the time, it’s like, amazing ideas or nothing, (to be honest usually nothing) but I like to try anyways,…[Read more]

@godlyfantasy12 so am i wrong in assuming it would be similar to a hypertrophic scar? which looks raw and fresh but is actually healed, or is it a literal open wound?
if it was an open wound that might constantly be sticky and getting dirty because of whatever factors of the story, that could, cause infection which would also contribute to it not…[Read more]
