Jenna Terese replied to the topic Cast of Characters in the forum General Writing Discussions 5 years, 2 months ago
Personally, when I see a cast of characters page it worries me that the cast is so large that the reader needs help to keep them all straight (when there are so many characters, I have a hard time connecting to the story sometimes). But I dunno, that’s just me…

@writerlexi1216 Just finished it! Left a few notes here and there. I think you did good! Caira is quite interesting, and I would like to find out more! I think that the pacing is good for a novel.
Can’t wait to see more!

@gracie-j For manga I read usually the authors put one character profile after each chapter or so. For myself I usually put a list after the story/section (see link: https://www.webnovel.com/book/abluvion_14214021505660705/cast-of-characters_48658453379471721)
I usually try not to spoil the story, if they are important before but have some…[Read more]

@hallie-jean Lol I actually know nothing about my characters and only make aesthetics to develop them. So you go, girl!

@gracie-j Oh, that sounds great! Thank you!
If it proves to be too much of a hassle, I may have to switch everything over to Wix….;-;

@gracie-j Thank you so much for your input! Yeah, I think that a blog space for announcements would be the best way to start out for now. I did find a progress bar plugin for Weebly, so I think I’ll be playing around with that! And Weebly also has an email thingy but it looks like I’ll have to spend to use that effectively…do you know how much…[Read more]

@issawriter7 Ahh thank you! And thank you so much for your recommendations! I’m gonna have to give this all a lot of thought, haha…

@jodi-maile Oo, I’ve read a couple of Redwall books before! And I’ve read almost all of the Warrior Cat series.
Whoa, your WIPs sound so cool! I’d love to hear more about them in the WIP chat we have!
Eyy, team pineapple! And thinking about those desserts are making me hungry, haha.

Cool website! 😀 I definitely think it’s a good idea to have a website, but a email list/newsletter is also SUPER important for updates and things (more so than a blog, in my opinion). I use Mailchimp to manage my email lists and newsletters, which has worked out well for my author business so far. 🙂

I come before you two today to bequeath a request…ahem. Both of you guys have awesome sites, so I just wanted some advice on what I should do with mine, haha.
I don’t really want to blog, but should I set up a space for announcements? If so, how should I do it? Or should I do a newsletter instead? And if so, do any of…[Read more]
