Koshka replied to the topic Making Bible Characters Relatable in the forum Biblical Fiction 4 years, 10 months ago
Thank you for tagging me. I haven’t read much biblical fiction, but I’ll be happy to share what I’ve noticed.
They were people, they had emotions, and the Bible records many of these. Most these are referenced in their actions. The entire book of Jonah (It’s better for me to die!). Ezekiel’s wife dies and he isn’t allowed to grieve, although he…[Read more]

Here’s what a dragonman skeleton looks like. (I actually used an anatomy chart for reference) You’ll notice that they have fangs for teeth, clawed feet, and spikes.

@elishavet-pidyon I used that sort of thing in my novel–my MC’s dad uses a few self-tailored expressions. “Crosshairs and cutlery, you just won’t give up, will you?”
@godlyfantasy12 I have a character named Nyx too! She is a good deal more annoying, though. She’s also female, and she’s a Deinonychus (a certain species of dinosaur).

Here’s the premise for my book!
Torrent Starcatcher has had a hard life.
She was born into a universe in turmoil; the violent dictator Indy has been in control since before her parents were born. Her mother, Liberty, died when Torrent was young, and her father, Hunter, was drafted into Indy’s army six years ago, and presumed killed n b…

@trahia-the-minstrel Ha ha, yes! Although they’re not called that…..I haven’t QUITE figure out a name. Once they name the species I’ll be able to come up with one.
And yes, Stormfly was Astrid’s dragon.

@godlyfantasy12 Thanks, and that’s a good idea!
@jodi-maile Thank you!
@trahia-the-minstrel That actually is a good idea.
@e-k-seaver There are multiple species of creatures as well as humans in the story, and they each have a different naming system. So that’s why my names are really weird.

@kathleenramm Sorry, but I don’t have a pancake. Perhaps try IHOP.
@anatra23 I recommend not trying to translate it. It appears that the code got corrupted at some point in time (
last time I trust a morse code translator.jk I’ll probably use it again 😜.) -
Power replied to the topic What’s an unexpected place you got a story idea from? in the forum Topic of the Week 4 years, 10 months ago
@kathleenramm I haven’t use the birthday cake corpse ideas in a story (and don’t really plan to). What I got out of the dream was the emotions and experience of being near someone when they are told that a loved one has passed.

That makes sense. Yes, I think I know what you mean. Like he can talk without speaking.
Thank you for the excerpt!

Nyx sounds woundermous! Definitely work him in. He’s so cute! If you have any scenes you could share, I’d be thrilled.

I do like it! I honestly couldn’t tell, but then I am the person who it took two books in an allegorical series before I realized Leinad was supposed to be Daniel. A’Grend is a good name though.
You have a fennec fox?! Ok, I love furry creatures in books, and foxes…*sigh* what in Nyx like? Does it’s name mean anything?

Your book sounds well beat out. Is it one book or a series? YES, it IS intriguing!
What inspired Possibility? It sounds good and deep. And squirrels are so neat.
I’ve read GE too. They’re wonderful books.
If it’s not too much of a spoiler, where did the name A’Grend come from?

Hey everyone! Keilah here. I’m currently worldbuilding on a dystopian/sci-fi/fantasy world, and I’d like your feedback on it!
The premise I have so far (for the first book anyway, I might make it a series):
Torrent Starcatcher has had a hard life.
She was born into a universe in turmoil; the violent dictator Indy has been in control since before…

@kathleenramm I get ideas from all kinds of places. My first fanfiction was literally inspired by a picture of a boat I saw in a magazine. And I get ideas from dreams all the time, like the one about dinosaurs that were used by police when I had a dream I was at a police station and they had a whole pen of gallimimus dinosaurs to ride. That dream…[Read more]

@trahia-the-minstrel Ugh, I’ll have to repost it. And I’ll get a good Singeprime picture so you can see what they look like.
In the meantime, some facts about MandaloreWings, since you said you were curious: (I don’t have a good picture yet, sorry)
