Honestly, the short story I’m talking about was a project for class. I learned a lot through that whole experience. Like the fact that it’s possible to make things happen in 750 words–it’s harder, but it teaches you to make every word count. And if the word isn’t actively bringing something to the piece…AMPUTATION!

Yeah I get you. I’ve got a healthy appreciation for grammar and I like it when people consider grammar when they write…but it’s difficult to make it interesting to teach. No way! I played volleyball in high school, too! I was a setter and then an opposite and it was awesome. It’s such a lovely, passive-aggressive sport: you don’t have to be up in people’s faces–instead you get to wack a ball at them from a distance.
