@seekjustice By the way, do you mind if I use that epic LOTR-crossover speech of yours in a new piece of Kapeefer lit I’m considering writing? I probably won’t have time to finish it for awhile, but I think it’s past time that I should have written it…

@ariel-ashira@all you faithful members of the Olde Kingdom of Kapeefers
I would be delighted to carry your declaration of war over to the city of Story Embers, whenever you have the declaration ready…

Of course, you’re wondering if I am a true Kapeefer at heart… I consider myself one, but I’m also an Emberling, and it depends on whether you can be both at once. Nevertheless, I cannot ignore my loyalties to this great kingdom so I have come to aid you in whatever way I can.
😀 And Stan offers his loyalties too. He insists that he has never liked Story Embers as much as Kingdom Pen and has been annoyed with me for not being on here more…

Also, yes, there’s no real malice for me either in this declaration of war, but it is rather fun 😉

Hello from a traitor 😀
I’m quite impressed by your declaration of war, seeing as we have a large group of vibrant warrior writers over in our guilds at Story Embers. But you can make it up in spirit 😉
XD XD 😛 The story about you guys staying here while the world grows cold and grey… actually was kind of touching. Stan is now berating me for not being more active here…
STAN, it was never my intention to leave–OW
Actually, I haven’t been overly active on either forum lately due to loads of other stuff in life. 🙁
I’ll pop in from time to time and bring you knitters some cinnamon rolls and ask you how the war is coming… by the way do you want me to announce your declaration over on Story Embers?

Also, Daeus has 22 turtles in his signature.@dekreel 😀 Hey, Chasm Beast.
I feel like I’ve deserted Kingdom Pen, too. That was never my intention, but I’m sure the faithful knitters keeping the kingdom alive here would consider me a traitor…

Also, Daeus has 22 turtles in his signature.@jenwriter17 I think Daeus and Kate got it. Basically, make things more complex. A longer story, more in depth themes, more characters, conflicts, obstacles to overcome, and more live scenes. That being said, you can’t just tack that stuff on to a story that is short at its core. Otherwise the story will drag. Layer things on, and see how in depth and complex you can make them, while still remembering to keep your story moving.

Also, Daeus has 22 turtles in his signature.@catwing 😀 He’s great. I think turning away like I am is great, although if you’ve changed it then standing there would be good too

Also, Daeus has 22 turtles in his signature.@ariel-ashira You know, I think he probably would. Maybe not intimidated but just slightly shy, although I think his main feelings would of course be joy. And probably, meeting his family again would be a moment where he ‘breaks down’ but in a good way and shows all his feelings, although it doesn’t necessarily have to be

Also, Daeus has 22 turtles in his signature. One thing to keep in mind with this is his response, too, although you’ve probably already thought that out. Obviously he’s not going to be shocked but he will probably be very emotional/happy. The other character reactions depend a lot on what the other characters are like.
I would expect his mother to be very emotional and to be completely shocked. She would be overjoyed to see him, but would have troubling handling it all and probably burst into tears and hug him.
I’d expect his father to be less dramatic on the outside, but he certainly shouldn’t be stoic either and would probably be feeling the same sort of thing on the inside. His movements might slow down rather than speed up and he’d probably speak to his son in a quieter, overjoyed manner.
The younger brother probably wouldn’t know exactly what to think, but he would be delighted. Probably jumping up and down, waving his arms around, racing around a telling people. Again, that depends a lot on his character. He might be the type of brother who would get really quiet and just go hug the older boy and not want to let him go.
As for the servant woman, I’d expect her response to be similar to the mother’s, but perhaps slightly less focused on the boy and more on the whole scene. For example, she’d probably be the one to scream and go tell everyone else, whereas the boy’s mother might just cry and hug him.

Also, Daeus has 22 turtles in his signature.@rochellaine XD 😀 I’m sorry, I can’t right now. Or should I say write now?
I would be glad to send Stan over, though 😀
Honestly, he’s been missing Bobert too. He’s had enough of strange adventures for awhile and wants to hang out with his KP-sidekick friend

Also, Daeus has 22 turtles in his signature.I have to admit, if you’ve watched a lot of those videos you probably know more than me, at this point.
I’d say…
1) Come up with a song idea (What you want your song to be about)
2) Think about the possibilities of that idea, or a question about it
3)Write your ideas down in verses and a chorus
4) Make a melody for it
You can also interchange writing the words and the tune if you want
@jane-maree and @jess-penrose Might be able to drop you a few tips, too 🙂*Giarstanornarak tries to melt chair*
Also, Daeus has 22 turtles in his signature.@ariel-ashira Well, I definitely think ‘shady’ songs could make younger believers stumble, but from what I understand you’re also talking about non-Christian good songs, which aren’t necessarily shady- I think, there, your own discernment and prayer is what’s most important. Also, discussing it with people; if they do seem uncomfortable, it could be bad, but some people might also not give it second thought. Paul’s words there almost seem to say ‘gauge the other believer, and if you are causing them to stumble, stop’ so that’s what I think must be done. And as far as recordings… well, I don’t have experience there, but although you can’t gauge the feelings of everyone who listens to it, you can do some similar things. For example, ask people if you did have a recording like that how it would come across to them, and get familiar with what people’s reactions might be, and then you can go from there 🙂

Also, Daeus has 22 turtles in his signature.@christi-eaton Calvin and Hobbes! Of course. Other than that, I am sadly lacking in comic knowledge.
*Giarstanornarak tries to melt chair*
Also, Daeus has 22 turtles in his signature.@ariel-ashira Maybe it doesn’t, but I think if you’re singing some popular songs that people like, and others that are directly Christian, you might get people who would normally not listen to Christian songs to move on to those, from your other songs. That’s just my ideas though 😉
