Awesome blurb! I liked it a lot actually, but sadly I don’t have that kind of platform at the moment to sign up. Though I wish you the best! 😀

Hi, Keilah! I’ve never read Green Ember before, but it sounds awesome. That’s a really wonderful thing about Kingdom Pen, I learn about new books to read, from other writers. I’m totally going to read this one:) What’s your favorite part about it?

Hi, Annabelle! I apologize for replying to you so late, (I can often take awhile with replying on Kingdom Pen, so thank you for your patience). I read the excerpt of your book and thought it was awesome!! I always love a good fantasy/action/romance read:) And of course, here’s my email: abigailmetzger73@gmail.com where I rec…[Read more]

He’s really good at writing more mature stories that I would call YA without forcing them to be anything in particular.
I don’t remember how many heroes he made personally, however, I do remember that he was the one who made Spider-Man. Spider-Man was the superhero that I watched as a kid. (Sadly, I watched a really old version…[Read more]

I can’t particularly think of any one person, but there are multiple authors and friends that have definitely made their mark.
There are certain elements that I’m more inclined to include in my stories because of my friends. They got me interested in these things or re-awakened my interest. So I have to give them credit for that. If it wasn’t for…[Read more]

Lavender Bleu replied to the topic What's the most recent piece of writing advice you’ve been given? in the forum Topic of the Week 2 years, 9 months ago
That’s a great point. We as readers can much more relate to the feeling of pain rather than a specific type of injury. Unless it’s like twisting your ankle or something like that lol.
I think the point is to not explain something that people already understand.
But yeah, stories that take injuries seriously are way more intense and…

*waves excitedly* WELCOME TO KINGDOM PEN!!!!!!! *sends welcome goodie basket with chocolate, cookies, and books* SO awesome to see you here!! (Also, this has got to be one of the coolest and unique intro posts I’ve ever seen on KP, so you definitely deserve an award for that. ;P)

Something that I saw somewhere (I can’t remember where) is that when you’re writing about pain, you don’t want to write about the pain itself so much as how it affects the person. Looking back at scenes that I’ve written, the ones where I put more effort into conveying how the injuries physically and mentally affect the character have more of a…[Read more]

OoOoOoOOo THIS IS SO EXCITING!!!! I am EXTREMELY stoked for the Reflections released. I just bought my copy of The House That Didn’t End (I know, I know… took me long enough, lol) a couple of weeks ago and CAN NOT wait to dive into it!!!!! I would sign up for an ARC copy but I sadly don’t meet the platform requirements of over 300…[Read more]

Lavender Bleu replied to the topic Have you ever considered writing under a pseudonym, and why or why not? in the forum Topic of the Week 2 years, 10 months ago
I definitely think that given names have more expectations attached to them because people get to know you, and your family, and that results in… expectations. (Unsurprisingly.) And pen names make it much easier to dodge those expectations, I suppose. They also have the advantage of allowing you to live a sort of secret life if…[Read more]

I have a concept for a book involving the before and after of what is essentially the apocalypse. (Or close to it.) Basically what happens is that a girl finds out that magic is going to suddenly come back to the Earth after thousands of years of being absent- and nearly destroy civilization in the process.
What I want to do is have half of the…[Read more]

Also, if you just want to skip to the second chapter to read what i wrote, you can. You don’t need to read the first chapter to understand the second chapter.

Hey yo, not-so-secret fam!
Contrary to popular belief, I actually DO write from time to time. And it’s actually REALLY GOOD. No cap. Like, Tolkien’s got nothing on me. C.S. Lewis? He came back from the dead JUST to get my autograph. And Shakespeare has been real quiet ever since I have started writing. And that’s a FACT.
Anywaaaays. I’m gonna…[Read more]

Thanks for helping me understand a bit better!
Also, sorry if I sounded a bit “un-gracious” there, but I guess what I meant wasn’t anything against the author, but the story. (I’m also a terrible writer, and it would indeed be bad news for me if the notion of improvement didn’t exist). So to rephrase: If the characters, world, an…[Read more]
