Ok! So I was fooling around and now don’t have enough time to write out the whole Icewraith-ImperialWing history! Ugh, I’ll get to it soon, I promise.
Snake
He listened to the queen’s explanation. It was interesting how similar their culture was to his.…[Read more]

Snake
He sat down on the floor, tail curled around his legs, as the queen of this kingdom explained what was going on. One of the characters angrily stormed out, not wanting to fight their war for them.
Snake didn’t mind going to war for some other kingdom.…[Read more]

Ok y’all… i have a really cool idea… At least I think it’s cool. I suppose we’ll see. XD
ANYWAY!
So I saw a writer on YouTube do this same thing (ish). She took multiple polls on Instagram about what people’s favorite genres, tropes, etc. were and compiled them all into one story. I don’t think she ended up writing the book, but she at least…[Read more]

The Queen
When the door swung open it revealed a moon-shaped room, wrapping around a large staircase like that that you would see in a mansion, with carven banisters and white stairs, accented with a deep brown walnut wood. The tiles of the floor were made of…[Read more]

Allen
“Who are you? And why is the other one hiding?” asked the female blue creature calmly.
Allen tensed. They’d seen him.
His mind whirred with ideas. Should he fight? Or stay in the shadows and watch them for a bit longer?
Neither option was particularly appealing right now.
“I’m not with them.” he cla…[Read more]

Wait! So, when God said to be fruitful and multiply, he wasn’t only talking to the berry bushes and mathematicians?! 😋 Very well answered.
An idea for your story. Instead of your love interest being the gladiator, have him be a surgeon/medtech of the gladiators. A gladiator could “like” your main charie, and she thinks…[Read more]

Yeah, I think it’s important to remember that it’s never bad for a villain to be non sympathetic, it’s just all in the execution.
I would also say that it depends on the villain’s role. Sometimes you need a sympathetic villain for the story to work. But yeah, in and of themselves, a non-sympathetic villain isn’t a bad thing…[Read more]

@princesachronicle22 yep.
Although Vader and Kylo are two halves of the same coin tbh
then there’s Loki, who’s all over the place (technically he was kinda redeemed though? so does he still count?)
and I don’t exactly know the others, but I can tell they’re probably something like the ones I do know

True, anti-heros are separate from villains. The mere fact that he can be considered an anti-hero can push him over to likeable, though not always.
Yeah, some of these villains you can root for for different reasons. Some are sympathetic with sad backgrounds, others and just intriguing.

100% I think Azula is a much more compelling villain, but I still think Ozai is underrated. We don’t know why he’s so evil, but he’s the personification of the evils Zuko and Azula face, so he’s interesting, because they’re interesting, if that makes sense. He’s not so much his own character for this reason, but it works, and…[Read more]

yeah, “tragic backstory” and “pure evil” villains have been done to death, but they can be good if done right.
Speaking of which (this might seem like it has nothing to do with the discussion but just hear me out), I was thinking of two different characters earlier today. They’re both borderline psychopaths,…[Read more]

Yeah, I think it’s important to remember that it’s never bad for a villain to be non sympathetic, it’s just all in the execution. Azula from Avatar the Last Airbender isn’t really sympathetic in the whole series, but she’s probably the most fascinating and terrifying villain I can think of. Her father, Ozai, is also a…[Read more]

Yeah, I haven’t gotten far at all in any of mine either (I mean I’ve wrote and rewrote one of them like four times or so and scrapped each attempt, but aside from that…) so lack of well-developed villains hasn’t been a problem.
My main difficulty is giving villains good motivation. I definitely don’t want to end up with…[Read more]

I’m kind of in the same boat when it comes to villains. I have relatively few that I would consider to “exist.” I can probably count them. I think five. Out of those, two are of the non-sympathetic, pure evil variety (and one is just the crony of the other), two are not very fleshed out, and the last is only moderately well…[Read more]
