You didn’t tag me, but I thought I’d bump in😅
So, if we are accepting the generally accepted definitions at least, this would formally be called a “magic system” even though in world there is a distinction. This happens a lot in fantasy actually. Tolkien for example did this, where the hobbits talked of elf magic, but to the…[Read more]

Well, I don’t think the fourth will be so dark that you can’t read it. Sanderson is very tailored to his different audiences, I’m just assuming he’s going to dig a little more into into it theme-wise, and all the stakes will all be set out. Again though, the third is significantly less dark in my opinion, which is ironic with the…[Read more]

No, I haven’t–what does semi-clean mean? Lol, I guess what I mean by clean is no sexual stuff, language (depends on the words they’re using and how often it is), and I’m usually ok with violence if it’s not extremely graphic. And I also usually don’t read books with dark magic or possession and stuff like that, if that makes sense.

Hmmm, have you read To Sleep in a Sea of Stars by Christopher Paolini? It’s semi-clean, but still very adult at the same time, but it has some fascinating concepts.
Summary:
During a routine survey mission on an uncolonized planet, Kira finds an alien relic. At first she’s delighted, but elation turns to terror when the ancient dust…[Read more]

I know, I’ve been really bad with the RP, sorry😅 I’ve been doing alright, it’s been quite busy, I’ve trying to get into freelance business lately, so that’s been taking a lot of my time. How about you?

Yeah, that makes sense, so they follow the classic fallen angel arch type, they are cast out, disembodied beings that can possess other bodies. I really like that you put emphasis on the idea that having a body is a responsibility…[Read more]

We’re discussing the concept of 4 dimensions? I’m tracing your conversation back to understand what lead to it, and your getting me excited. So you want to make a Interstellar inspired story with more Christian themes mixed in, and now you’ve mentioned bring up the 4th dimension.
To clarify Keilah, extra spatial dimensions in…[Read more]

That’s very true, how much do we really know? I think one of the few things we can know is that for now there is a lot we don’t. There is so much in all creation, and it really is foolish to believe we have any idea how it all really works, unless it is revealed unto us by the Father. But it is very fun to entertain different ideas and…[Read more]

Probably hard; I enjoy whimsical storytelling, and have indulged in it. Off-the-cuff, in the moment stories. But when it’s something I really care about, I have to organize the ideas, compare them to my fundamental beliefs, figure out how they correspond to God’s way of thinking… I admire Tolkien quite a bit, even if I don’t plan to worldbu…

Fun idea! Personally though, I would ask if it needs to be a Rapunzel retelling. It is obvious that it isn’t a retelling of the classical Rapunzel story, but specifically the film Tangled, because it’s missing pretty much all the original details that really defined the story of Rapunzel. It is clear where your deriving a lot…[Read more]

A forum all about questions… where have I seen that?🤔 Eeh, probably nowhere, right?😂
I would say that it depends on who you are. If you are say, Brandon Sanderson, then handling 10 books at a time won’t overwhelm you, but we are not all Brandon Sanderson. If you are J.R.R Tolkien, then using your life to perfect a single project is won’t cause…[Read more]

So Hello 👋
I just wanted to give my two cents on the whole Narnia thing (which people seem to be really up in arms about)
I was reading some news things and saw that Greta Gerwig (of Barbie move and Little Women fame) was going to be directing some Narnia material (can’t remember if it was m…[Read more]

Interesting, that makes a lot of sense. So it was basically a different dialect of Latin from a different era.

Folith-Feolin replied to the topic Apologetics in the forum Mission, Calling & Ethics 2 years, 9 months ago
So if I remember correctly from what are music director said then the Latin is sung differently because the Latin that you learn and speak in Latin classes is Classical Latin (what the Roman’s spoke in) whereas the type of Latin that you generally sing is Church Latin (what the Catholic Church uses)

Yeah, Nelson’s I just like sharing, it’s a topic that I don’t really think needs to be extrapolated any further, it simply needs to be known.
That’s really interesting, is that actually how it was historically? Did that actually serve any purpose to pronounce words differently when sung? Now I’m just thinking of worldbuilding…[Read more]

The musical is not sung in French although it does include a lot of singing in Latin to evoke that Cathedral feel. I recently learned that apparently the Latin pronunciation u…[Read more]
