    @linus-smallprint

Hi Linus, even though we’ve met now, I realized that I never properly greeted you to the Forum, so I thought I’d give a late one.

I’m the Arcane Axiom, I enjoy math, searching for divine fundamental truth, and exploring that in my writing. I read/write sci-fi/fantasy, and am currently working on a universe with my sister called…[Read more]

  • Thank you for providing this answer. I do agree with a lot of what you said, such as how whether or not God chooses who he will save is a secondary issue and how going to a church, no matter what the denomination, does not determine whether or not someone is a Christian. However, I still would like some more clarification, if you do not mind. You…

I have read Skyward, but only the first two books. Stormlight, I am a little intimidated by. I’ve heard Sanderson himself describing the opening as a wall you have to climb with your fingernails to understand, and when you reach the top, then you will be able to enjoy it. On the other hand, I have read Wheel of Time. Perhaps I w…

At least from what I can see, Christ did not denounce the Pharisees for trying to be right – because they weren’t. They were pretending to search for truth, and instead abused the original covenant conditions by deconstructing them into aimless laws.

I don’t necessarily see how those ideas are mutually exclusive. Mind you that I did…[Read more]

Oh, lol, you beat me to the switch, I’ll read through your post now

  • @linus-smallprint

By the way, (theducktator, and thearcaneaxiom as well), what books would you recommend to a fan of Tress and Alcatraz?

Hmm, we’ll I’m biased for Sanderson in general, so I’d point to anything from him. Frugal is up the same ally of humor and flair, but you’re already reading that. Have you started Skyward? I think you’d like that…[Read more]

(Also, as you and Whaley have suggested, perhaps we should take this over to the Apologetics chat and leave this to people who want to discuss Tress of the Emerald Sea)

I agree, so I’m just going to make the switch right now.

A couple of things. Firstly, I did not realize the term ‘Mormon’, is offensive, I am sorry for…

Indeed we do have very different theological and cosmological prospectives. It just bugs me that that needs to be where the identity of us as Christians must be. Yes, theology is important, but what did Christ constantly denounce the Pharisees for doing? Weren’t they constantly concerning themselves about being right, and Christ was…[Read more]

Sorry, right now I have no plans to read Yumi and the Nightmare Painter. After seeing some of the artwork in the book, it seems there may be some scenes I would not be comfortable reading. I also found out that the plot involves Yumi and Panter switching bodies, which is not something I am interested in reading about. I know…

What are some ways to set up healthy boundaries with technology to keep it from overruling our lives, and how can we use it to our benefit? What can we do to take advantage of this tool, literally at our fingertips, to make God known?

A common practice within my own faith is fasting. We specifically fast from food every first Sunday.…[Read more]

  • Humanity wasn’t ready for the internet. How life is fundamentally lived changed within a generation with the introduction of phones. That was uncharted territory, we’ve introduced trials of mental, physical, and social health never seen before, and we had no way to prepare for that, because of how fast it came about. Why talk to real people when…[Read more]

Tress is a wonderful book. It was the first of Sanderson’s more whimsical writings I’ve read (then I found Alcatraz…). It’s fun, light hearted, and very unique. Please let me know when you read Yumi and the Nightmare Painter!

Of course, Brandon Sanderson is not a Christian, but a Mormon

Why deny our relationship with Christ😥

  • It took 6 months for KP to get back to me y’all, but it finally happened! Life through the Eyes of Yesterdays is finally published if any of y’all would like to read it!

We’ve all been there, lol, just tag us by typing the name with the @ symbol, then quoting is just the quotation marks at the top, and it should show an indented box for the quote.

And in terms of fantasy, I like Lord of the Rings or Legend of Zelda type fantasies with a lot o…

Here’s the thing about being Non-Denominational…you kinda agree with various denominations 😂

See, the pastor of my church was raised Baptist but became Pentacostal through the influence of his wife (who was raised Pentecostal) and together they started a Non-Denominational church.

So yes, I do identify with some Pen…

So your sounding more and more Pentecostal to me Freedom, would you say you identify with that at all? Pentecostals main deal is always seeking to be in attunement with the Holy Spirit, acting purely with His will, letting your own will go. Essentially if it feels right, it is right type stuff.

    I honestly like Pentecostals,…[Read more]
