Another thing is I think it’s really important to give your character an identity that does not involve their hurt. Who are they, what do they want, and what is their goal? Their past and experiences can effect the answers to those questions, but hurt should never define a person.
What Min said here is exactly what I would say. You should never m…[Read more]

*Is trying to think of a character to use this on* *Doesn’t want to spoil anything in Healer/the sequel* XD
Oh btw I think I might call the sequel “Outlaw,” to fit the character sort of like “Healer” did. 😉

Yeah, I think so! Just might make it a little easier to understand XD I mean, in hindsight, they were at a corn shucking thing. I should’ve known they were talking about CORN ears XXD

Thanks for the tag!! You’re really saving me there XD I hope to be more active, especially once I leave YWW. (:
Hey! So yeah, I love and write sci-fi, and I love this story!! You’re a very talented writer. I agree with everything hybridlore said – on the topic of long/short paragraphs, I think it’s a thing where people have…[Read more]

Nope, I think it’s just you XD I didn’t notice anything seeming weird, except I didn’t understand when Albert said, “We’ll see who gets the red ear of corn tonight!” until Dr. Hawley opened it. Anyway, I like Clara and him together so far!

Okay, I was just making sure! Hmm…. yeah, I would just tag anyone you know/people who asked about your WIP, but of course you don’t have to. It just helps them to see it.
I know that @loopylin and @kyronthearcanin write science fiction, so maybe they would be interested to read it? Sorry, I don’t know who you’ve met yet. Or maybe @whalekee…[Read more]

Sorry I never replied to this, but I still read it! I like where it’s going, lol. It’ll be interesting to see if Clara finds a husband XD

I use it to mean negative traits, but you’re right, it’s a little confusing. I’ll change that.

Hey guys! I know we’ve already had some of these topics, but I made another one! I don’t like to go into TOO much detail about my characters, but I’ve found that answering a few important questions can go a long way in fleshing them out.
I just made this questionnaire the other day, and it’s helped me a lot so far! If any of you wants to use it,…[Read more]

Hi!! Sorry, I would’ve gotten to this earlier, I just didn’t even see it. Do you know how to tag people already or did you just not know who to tag?
It seems interesting so far! I think the biggest thing I noticed was that your paragraphs are really long — I think it would be easier to read if you split the paragraphs up, but that’s sort…[Read more]

Yess!!! Read and reread them, they’re amazing. My family might be starting the first one as a read aloud, too! 😁 I’ve been trying to get my siblings to read them forever. Who’s your favorite character?

hybridlore replied to the topic Writing abuse in an allegory in the forum Plotting 2 years, 11 months ago
I don’t really know much about abuse effects or anything like that other than I’ve read in books, thankfully. One thing I would ask is, is it absolutely necessary to the plot/character? Because I think that can really easily become a cliched, sort of stereotypical in books, so if you’re just throwing it in there to make the…[Read more]

Hi Nevaeh! It’s nice to meet you!
I’m hybridlore on here, or just Hybrid, a Christian, violinist, and sci-fi/dystopian writer. I’m also a homeschooler and enjoy doing lots of things! 😁
Okay, maybe you can revive the nonfiction section on here… I don’t know exactly what’s going on over there, but I don’t think it’s used very often.…[Read more]

Yeah, I definitely like viola better, because of the sound, I guess. I don’t really know, but it just fits me better.
Yeah, I get that. It’s really similar to violin, just a little deeper, right? I don’t think you have an E string.
My inspiration for my WIP was a bunch of different books and one of my friends, who loves to imagine a…

The Trinity is such a beautiful and essential thing, which… really, is still a bit of a mystery XD I believe the Trinity is Three in One, Three Persons, One God, equal in power and glory.
I can’t think of a bunch of verses off the top of my head. But a proof I love is in the very beginning!

A few of your questions sparked some thoughts, so here ya go 😝
Do we discern truth based off of what feels right, or what has more logical substance? (More and more Christians I meet seem to prefer the latter in the form of Sola Scriptura, but many others say we should also judge by the Spirit, so I thought it would spark an…
