Not-So-Secret Secret Assassin

The Lord Heals!

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree; so that, having died to sins, we might live for righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. – 1 Peter 2:24

Personally, I like to do a LOT of plotting, since my stories usually are very complex from a plot standpoint and want to diminish plot holes, so I created a 10 milestone framework.

Have you heard of the 5 Milestones?

It’s a very simple plotting structure, kinda like a balance between pantsing and plotting.

It’s:

1. Set-up
2. Inciting Incident
3. 1st slap
4. 2nd slap
5. Climax

This way, you only need to plot out 5 key events, and then you can fill in the rest as you go.

I have the desire to add a new little guy to this. A guy with fun frilly sleeves

That’s kinda cool you don’t describe her appearance. Charlotte Brontë deliberately did not provide a conventional or detailed physical description of her character in Jane Eyre.

Also love the music/song power.

So you’re just looking for a name for her?

I typically use baby name sites, Behind The Name, or AI for finding a good name.

Hi @Renegade ! Welcome to Kingdom Pen! How did you hear about us?

So cool you write Fantasy and want to own your own business! I’m a huge fan of entrepreneurship!

Also so cool how many different creative pursuits you have!

I’m also curious about your “health issue roulette”. My wife had so many health issues for so long and almost died as well until she received healing from…[Read more]

Moth

Well done. Moth’s chest rose a little.

He tilted his head in a sort of shrug, eying his attempt. It looked like he had some skill – even though that was not true. His initial wish for the shot had been much humbler. “I must make offerings to serendipity in my sleep. How do I know where the arrowhead will fly?”

Rock music is not sinful.

You have freedom in Christ.

Since you died with Christ to the elemental spiritual forces of this world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules: 21 “Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!”? – Colossians 2

At best, it’s a Romans 14 issue, as just about all external things and lif…[Read more]

Really good verses. I didn’t understand the purpose of baptism for a really long time. Didn’t really get it until a few years ago. I thought it was just a symbol and not important.

The Bible is very clear on how to be saved. In Acts 2:38, the crowd asks Peter what they must do to be saved. He says: “Repent AND be baptized, each of you, in the n…[Read more]

@liskaboyce

Yeah, the middle part of a story is always the weirdest part. Koshka and Quicksilver made good points. I think a huge part of it is coming up with obstacles, and then connecting them to lead to the midpoint.

Follow-up question. Is it possible that the structure isn’t the issue, but that it’s incredibly difficult to think of actual…[Read more]

Welcome to Kingdom Pen! I’m a writer of middle-grade fiction and poetry, a full-time university student, a historical clothing/culture/language nerd, and a hand-crafting enthusiast.

Finishing stuff is hard. I think that’s easy to forget sometimes, but it’s no less true.

As far as screenplays go, closest I’ve gotten was a stage play, so…[Read more]

@koshka

I’ll see if I can borrow this through my library! I was planning to get into my local library this week anyway. Interlibrary loans should give me access to this.

I haven’t read Adorning the Dark, but I’ve heard of it. I’ve heard good things about it. It has a lovely title.

@grcr

In the space of a couple days, we’ve started making new accounts for people again, and this is the result. Lots of people. 😅

What is your denomination?

I don’t subscribe to any one denomination. I’m just a bible-believing disciple of Christ.

“Christianity came to Greece and became a philosophy. It came to Italy and became an institution. It came to Europe and became a culture. It came to America and became a business.”

Did you grow up with this denomination? Are…

This is awesome! Congrats to Whaley and Koshka for becoming mods (I already congratulated Ellette on being the Queen of KP)
