@sarafini I’m studying computer science right now, haha. Very different from most things. Depends on which starving artist talk, lol. I’m literally in CS in order to make a living one day, so… To be honest, I don’t know if I’ve been more burned out from writing or from work, but I’m trying to find a balance…kind of hard. But in ten years I…[Read more]

@light-warrior-pen Nice to meet you! Not much to say about myself; I’m Lin, I’m a college kid, and my back hurts. Anyways.
I know others above me have already asked, but what are you currently working on? Do you prefer novels or short stories? Etc. Anyways. Welcome to the Kingdom!

@sarafini I’m in college right now studying something else so I don’t really have time to fully commit to something like that, lol. Plus I think they expect me to go right into the workforce afterwards so idk if there will ever be a chance for that, haha. Plus it seems expensive.
Aw, I’m glad you have time to write! I’m hoping things will get…[Read more]

The members who critique and the members who get their work critiqued are one and the same! When you are a part of the group, the only requirement is to edit one teammate’s work a month, but you can post as many or as few works of your own as you like to get critiqued.
So basically you and your teammates are critiquing each other’s…[Read more]

@freedomwriter76 Hehe but this math course is honestly more enjoyable than a lot of the other courses I’m in, haha.
And no, my life isn’t going well. I hope yours is though!

A couple months back I hinted at making writing groups for Kingdom Pen, and now it’s finally evolved from just an idea into an actual thing!
@katthewriter , @abigail-m , Rachel Lietch and I have been working on it together for some time now so we are really excited to finally have the news out. 😮💨
Anyways, I thought I’d make a post for anyone…[Read more]

@freedomwriter76 Hahaha. There’s more algebra than I expected but yeah, it’s one of the main reasons I’ve been gone from the forum for the past few months.
@lydia-s Whoa, that’s awesome! I was debating on joining the Conservatory, haha, but my parents would kill me. Your novel sounds really cool; would love to read it one day!
I’m currently…[Read more]

Kathleen replied to the topic I'm writing a book in a different time period…… in the forum Characters 1 year, 8 months ago
Interesting question! While I don’t know too much about New York during that time period, I do know that around that time electric power was still in early development and telephones were becoming more common, but were still considered a luxury item.
I did little research about New York (Specifically New York City) in the year 1899 and here’s…[Read more]

Kathleen replied to the topic Help Needed Concerning Writing an Article for KP! in the forum Non-Fiction 1 year, 8 months ago
Cool! Here’s some tips that have helped me with article writing:
1. Write about something that is meaningful or has personal significance to you.
2. Before writing ask yourself: “What problem am I trying to solve?” this will help guide your research and writing.
3. Brain dump every and all thoughts and ideas you have on the subject…[Read more]

A fortnight ago, by happenstance, I stumbled back upon my old, abandoned village here in the Kingdom of Pen. As I gazed upon the empty landscape, run-down buildings, and the sun sinking into the horizon, something wasn’t quite right. In fact, there was something terribly wrong. The same feeling you get when you go on a roadtrip, and then wonder…[Read more]
