@e-k-seaver You might not be able to make money with Traditional publishing either. There is no guarantee.

They give you an advance, yes, but you have to give that back if you don’t sell enough copies. Plus, you make SUCH a smaller percentage of every book that is sold.

On top of that, Traditional publishers just don’t promote books like they…[Read more]

The first episode is coming this Friday!

Self-publishing is vastly superior to traditional publishing.

@katniss-everdeen Okay then, Tessa!!! (I love your name, btw. Dunno if I ever said that, but it’s a beautiful name. ;P) Aww. *hugs you* I’m so glad you’re well. <3

Well in that case—!!!!!!!!! :’D

Very cool! What kind of stuff do you do with your online business?

(wow, it’s been so long since I’ve posted here I’ve even messed up the formatting of spaces and stuff O.o)

*pops up from the dusts of antiquity*

@katniss-everdeen AhA, I do b’lieve I do! Wow! Hello again, Bluejay! *crazed waving* (Don’t worry, I remember your real name too, but I don’t know if you want me saying it here or not. XD) Long time no see! I need to stop using exclamation points! :’D

How are youuu?

Romeo and Juliet.

It’s considered one of the greatest love stories of all time but it’s not a love story, and it’s not great.

It’s really just a story about the two most unbelievably selfish and stupid teenagers of all time. It’s also just cheesy.

But I guess one could say it does a decent job of being a cautionary tale of what can happen to…[Read more]

Awesome!

We’ll start recording our pilot season as soon as possible then!

A few of the show ideas we have right now are:
– How to monetize your creative brand
– The formula for making a living from your creations
– Just Hit Publish (Why creators need to create and publish more)
– How to manage your time as a creative so you get…[Read more]

Great! Encouraging to see all the positive feedback!

Maybe we’ll do a pilot season and release some episodes and see what you guys think of it. 🙂

In my current WIP? I can imagine being friends with at least two of my characters… possibly six of them. Maybe more. I can think of at least one I wouldn’t be friends with at all. Their personality does not mesh well with mine.

But two of them for sure. I could be best friends with at least one. 🙂

@r-m-archer

I LOVE making cultures. 🙂 My strategy is to mash up various characteristics of real-world cultures to make something unique. Although each culture has a specific aesthetic that I shoot for. For example, I might have a Medieval European aesthetic, but incorporate cultural elements/traditions from feudal Japan.

As a cold-blooded…[Read more]

Yes, things are declining, but we don’t have to worry or fret because we can trust in God. 🙂

This also just shows the need for you, and Kingdom Pen, and Christians to get back involved in shaping the culture and our institutions.

Maybe one day Kingdom Pen can create it’s own online software as an alternative to NaNoWriMo.

Thanks! Glad you liked it. Owl City has definitely been an influence.

Do you have any recordings of your singing anywhere online?

This is such a cool topic! I’m always looking to add new vocalists for my songs!

I sing by necessity but I don’t really consider myself a singer since I don’t particularly like my voice and don’t think that I’m very good. Here’s an example.

Hence why I’m always trying to find new vocalists.

Count Olaf is a pretty good villain, @erinramm. I liked him from the Netflix series.

I never really gave it much thought, but I guess I prefer the Moriarty from the books. The one from the series was alright, but I don’t even remember the one from the movies. He must not have been particularly memorable.

Honestly, I think I like the idea of…[Read more]

Really cool songs @Samuel-p-robbins! Definitely sound like they could be soundtracks to a novel.

Definitely a touching story. What can we do to restore what was great about Kingdom Pen in the past?
