  • I dare you to post the very last sentence you’ve wrote in a story with no context.

    And no cheating!

    I know it’s tempting to quickly write an eloquent sentence before participating but DON’T! Be 100% honest and post the very last sentence you wrote. (Unless there is anything inappropriate of course).

    Okay, I’m going to tag some…[Read more]

    This thread has been really fun to read! Sadly, I’ve never written a proposal scene before and I am not likely to write one any time soon 🙁 Only one pair of my characters canonically get married and its technically after the story ends. Maybe I could add in a…[Read more]

    @lydia-s

    Thank you for tagging me Lydia!

    Well, my MCs are always between the 15-17 age range and I have a tendency to make romances very, very, very difficult for them. The proposals I’ve, like you said, gone over for weeks in my head (I love doing that with scenes btw:) will never make it into the writing itself except for maybe a separate doc…[Read more]

    Hi, Lydia!

    I haven’t written any mystery stories either, but I’ve been meaning to. It is a small element in most of my stories though.

    (1) My top three authors are Rebecca Tingle, Louisa May Alcott, and L. M. Montgomery. I have been meaning to order a certain series of books that look good, so that author may soon join my list!

    (2) I…[Read more]

    Yes she was! Her coat was a tobiano paint and she was half Gypsy Vanner half Arabian.

    Yes Tolkien is such a great writer. Reading the Silmarillion really gave the rest of his books a whole new light for me. Also if you want a SAD read I’d suggest The Children of Hurin. That book actually brought tears to my eyes (now that is a GREAT f…[Read more]

    yes, she’s amazing with writing, truly gifted!

    Yah, I wrote that part about a year ago, and I just went back and read it while listening to ‘The Eagles’ from the Return of the King soundtrack, and made myself cry… “why, Daphne? why did I kill youuuuu?” XD

    Yes, only princesses can compete in the trials. All of those are very interesting ideas, and although there aren’t any physical judges, she could definitely show up as an honored guest or a trainer. Thank you for the help! 🙂

    Yeah, I’m writing my first 18 year old character and her boyfriend proposes to her towards the end. I’m looking forward to writing it!

    @lydia-s

    Yeah, guys crying makes me emotional XD  I haven’t actually seen it in real life very often, but I didn’t think they were sissy for it.

    Lol yessss a good scene with people crying adds sympathy to the hurting character, totally. Someone I know is writing an novel, and the MC’s best friend said, “Crying isn’t weak. Or at least… I hope…[Read more]

    Oooh, oooh, *raises hand* COUNT ME IN for this thread!!! (Thank you for tagging me, by the way 🙂 ) First off, not only do I adore writing romance, but I also adore proposals because that’s when all of the brewing romance finally comes together for that huge, heartwarming moment, right? Right. Unfortunately for me, the two characters i…[Read more]

    @hallie-jean Nice! No, actually. I’ve heard of them, but haven’t read them yet.

    Hmm…that is a hard question!! Well, I really like Rupert from Ashtown Burials and Padra from Mistmantle, and Fitz and Keefe from KotLCs!

    And as far as my characters go prob Jaylin from my book and Estella from my current short story.

    Hbu?

    @lydia-s Yes, such a beautiful topic!! Though lololol, it made me realize that I have no idea how, when, or if my two engaged characters experience a proposal. I might have to give writing that scene a whirl… I do have IRL experience with the subject but that’s another matter entirely

    Anyway, what’s your favorite proposal scene that you’ve…[Read more]

    Thanks for the welcome.

    My profile pic is a picture of a horse my family used to have. She was sooo pretty.
