I’ve been hearing so much about that series!
What about them inspired you? The characters, the world, the theme, etc. I love hearing peoples thoughts and feeling about books.
Do you like the originals or the re-writes better? I’ve been wanting to read them, but I’m not sure which version to start with.

I’m in the middle many different WIP, so my brains telling me, “focus on finishing what you’ve started Kat” but then my heart is like, “Ey, it’s ’bout time we set off on the roaring seas! Join hands with MGPN!”
Well, a Pirate novel may or may not have started simmering in the back. And you’re right it does look like jolly fun. XD Oh,…[Read more]

I always hear about people being inspired by C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, but rarely do I get to hear about books that have inspired them! I’m definitely going to have to check Phantastes out. I love books that execute symbolism well, and also the original books where the cliches of today came from.

Hello Hello! It’s awesome to have you on the forum. 😀
Wow. It’s really cool that you started writing at such a young age. I started around 6 or 7, but only in the past few years have been consistent.
Who are some of your favorite authors? And does your sister read any of your writing

Although I’ve not written about pirates, they do sound like fun people to write about. Kinda makes me want to try writing a swashbuckling pirate novel with sea monsters. XD The genre is surprisingly underutilized I feel like in the book world. Unless I’m just in the wrong libraries.

Hi! Awesome to have to on the forum! I too was a passive reader of Kingdom Pen for many years before deciding to join the forum this year.
Your taste in fiction sounds a lot like mine. The Hunger Games trilogy and the two Percy Jackson series are some of my favorite series, along with All the Wrong Questions series. I’m a little…[Read more]

Get past the killing part? What kind of people do you like to hang out with?! XD 😉
Rina sounds like a really interesting character. What character is she in your story? Villain, MC, side character?
Haha, yes my characters suffer from very similar dilemmas. I love them all, and I’d try to befriend them but……[Read more]

Which one of your characters would you most likely be friends with and why?
Okay, so I tried imagining myself with each of my characters, but none of them really work. XD They’re all a little crazy or they’re loners so… I’m not sure if I could be friends with any of them. I genuinely tried to think about it, but I really don’t think I would get…[Read more] -

Steelheart has been on my to-read list! Have you read the entire series? And if so, which book is your favorite?

Hi and welcome to the Kingdom of Pen!
If you don’t mind me asking, what area of Canada do you live in? I’ve been to Canada once, and it was an awesome trip. It’s so beautiful and spacious and the air is so sweet and crisp. I’d love to go back there sometime.
Woah, it’s really cool that you go skiing. How old were you when you started?…[Read more]

Awww, you’re so sweet! You don’t have to worry about being too sappy, this has been a crazy year (My dad also got laid off), But I agree that this forum has been a such great outlet. (Who knew there were so many cool christian writers?)
Man, there are so many things that I’m thankful for when it comes to writing. But If I’m to only…[Read more]

Hello! Hello!
I am (yet another) homeschooler, a couple years older than you, and- wait, did you mention LotR AND Percy Jackson?! You have impeccable taste. LotR is… well, LotR. And Percy Jackson has had a special place in my heart since I was ten. What book are you on? And do you have a favorite character?
I too love to write…[Read more]

Well, the saying did come from Chinese characters so that makes sense.
Now it makes a bit more sense that the plots were the same. XD
Just curious, if you had to write a fairytale retelling which fairytale would you choose?
Oh, the author is Jennifer A. Neilson. Her most popular book is The False Prince, which is…[Read more]

Oof. Yes. Disappointing endings are no stranger to me.
There’s actually a Korean expression to describe stories that start out really awesome but end badly. The literal translation is, “the head of a dragon and a tail of a snake.” My siblings and I use this expression a lot unfortunately. XD
I can tell that you really care…[Read more]

“What do you believe is one of the most important elements of a good story?”
For me, it’s characters. A book can have the most interesting, plot-twisty, and exciting story, but if the characters aren’t any good… I’m out. And vise versa, if a story is pretty basic and cliche, but it has awesome, well-developed, and life-filled characters, I’m…[Read more] -

Hhmm… I’ve been looking for looking for some good new shows for my siblings and I to watch. From what you and @seekjustice said I may have to watch it.
I love stories that focus on the small simple things in life that get overlooked. What I’ve realized recently is that a story about someone trying to open up a successful pub…[Read more]

What’s the most recent book/movie you read/watched that has inspired you to write?
Well, if we’re going by recently, then it would have to be Avatar the Last Airbender. Yes, yes, I know it’s a kids show that was made like a decade ago, but I started watching it for the first time this month and I’m enjoying it way more than I ever anticipated.…[Read more] -

Agatha Christie gang, here I come!
I looked up Anne Rice just now, and I didn’t realize there were so many Christian Vampire authors. (She is one of a couple others I know), The market must be much bigger than I first realized.
