I’ve never finished a book so I don’t know exactly what you’re experiencing, but maybe you just need a break?
If you’re reading something you wrote over and over, it’s bound to start sounding weird or bad. Kind of like when you repeat a word to yourself until it stops making sense.(Or maybe that’s just a weird thing only I do. idk.)

I’m kinda late to this discussion, but I’d recommend anything written by ND Wilson. In particular:

• Ashtown Burial series (fantasy. my personal favorite)
• Outlaws of Time (an awesome mix of western, fantasy, and time travel)
• Boys of Blur (a fantasy/thriller(?) set in the sugar cane marshes of Florida)
