“People call me indecisive, but I really am not sure if they are right.”

😂 too relatable

Probably Zeb or Ezra. How about you?

Oooh, that’s hard. Ezra is definitely one of them, and I love Hera… and Kanan… also Kallie (😂 that said Kallus, but spell-check changed it to Kallie. I think I’m going to start calling him that)

For inspiration, I did not want to go to medieval England, so I am digging into the 19th century for inspiration. They do not have electricity yet (they will soon after this trilogy), but they have cameras, locomotives, and plumbing. Style of clothing is a combination of clothing from this era and what is more typical in fantasy.…

@linus-smallprint I just saw your creatures’ pages and they are amazing!! I kinda want to get on that website and make stuff for my creatures now lol.

The kentors sound exactly like something I’d come up with.

what guidelines do you have for coming up with species? I’ll put out a few of my creatures, and you can just get ideas from them I…[Read more]

Hi Linus, even though we’ve met now, I realized that I never properly greeted you to the Forum, so I thought I’d give a late one.

I’m the Arcane Axiom, I enjoy math, searching for divine fundamental truth, and exploring that in my writing. I read/write sci-fi/fantasy, and am currently working on a universe with my sister called…[Read more]

Is there something happening elsewhere that might be distracting the king? Something that seems more important than dealing with rebels?

Well, this whole thing takes place during the Crusade era, so maybe while the Crusades are going on the king is distracted by that and wouldn’t have time to focus on his own country. Thanks for the help!

@linus-smallprint

The main reason why they are beneficial to me is because I write code. Without chatbots, I can spend hours staring at my code trying to figure out why it does not work, but once I give it to AI, the issue is identified in seconds and saves me so much time!

Oh, that’s a good way to use it!

Yeah, yeah, but your scientists were so…

I have read Skyward, but only the first two books. Stormlight, I am a little intimidated by. I’ve heard Sanderson himself describing the opening as a wall you have to climb with your fingernails to understand, and when you reach the top, then you will be able to enjoy it. On the other hand, I have read Wheel of Time. Perhaps I w…

Story Thieves by James Riley reminds me of Alcatraz, in the way that the two make fun of writing. I’ll tell you if I think of any more.

@linus-smallprint

By the way, (theducktator, and thearcaneaxiom as well), what books would you recommend to a fan of Tress and Alcatraz?

Hmm, we’ll I’m biased for Sanderson in general, so I’d point to anything from him. Frugal is up the same ally of humor and flair, but you’re already reading that. Have you started Skyward? I think you’d like that…[Read more]

(Also, as you and Whaley have suggested, perhaps we should take this over to the Apologetics chat and leave this to people who want to discuss Tress of the Emerald Sea)

I agree, so I’m just going to make the switch right now.

A couple of things. Firstly, I did not realize the term ‘Mormon’, is offensive, I am sorry for…

Shifting this discussion is best, so we don’t flood the book review XD

Indeed we do have very different theological and cosmological prospectives. It just bugs me that that needs to be where the identity of us as Christians must be. Yes, theology is important, but what did Christ constantly…

Hi Linus, I’m theloonyone, or just loony! Welcome to Kingdom Pen! (I actually haven’t been here in a while, just now trying to get back into writing…) Do you have a favorite lego set that you own? Or one that you really want? Your WIP sounds really cool and it’s so awesome that you’re already working on your second draft!

I have not read the book, but my mum listened to it on audio and enjoyed it 😆 She said it was cozy and a whole lot less complicated than Sanderson’s other works. She also tends to doze off while listening (she’s sick and has a terrible sleep schedule) but understood enough to give it a positive review, lol.

To this day she say…[Read more]

Sorry, right now I have no plans to read Yumi and the Nightmare Painter. After seeing some of the artwork in the book, it seems there may be some scenes I would not be comfortable reading. I also found out that the plot involves Yumi and Panter switching bodies, which is not something I am interested in reading about. I know…

Hoid did sound similar to Alcatraz. I’m not sure who I prefer. I don’t know a lot about Hoid either. I’ve read The Stormlight Archive, which was amazing, but not Mistborn. The friends who recommended Stormlight said I’m too young for it. I do plan to read it eventually.

@linus-smallprint

Oh, that’s a good quote. My favorite is, (and I might be paraphrasing here, I don’t remember the exact words), “Her name was Glorf. Don’t judge, it was a family name.”

I haven’t read Yumi yet, but I have read Frugal Wizard, and it was amazing. I highly recommend it.

@grcr @rae @theshadow @whalekeeper @loopylin @linus-smallprint

Thank you for your suggestions! Her name is Ayla. Loopylin, is Lindy your name? TheShadow, I actually have an Estelle. XD

@linus-smallprint

Tress is a wonderful book. It was the first of Sanderson’s more whimsical writings I’ve read (then I found Alcatraz…). It’s fun, light hearted, and very unique. Please let me know when you read Yumi and the Nightmare Painter!

Of course, Brandon Sanderson is not a Christian, but a Mormon

Why deny our relationship with Christ😥
