I don’t remember these fellows well because I skimmed over their part so much…but from just looking at their moodboards, I instantly liked Brian! I love his quotes. And maybe because he sort of looks like an AOA actor? Jason is funny as well…
And…Evan is showing some clear signs of YSS.

I just finished it…I didn’t comment much, but still, there are some. OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!! 314 was my favorite character from the first moment he appeared…but I won’t know 100% for sure until I have the actual book and take the time to fully, slowly read it.
This book reminds me so much of another story a young writer wants…[Read more]

AHHHH!!! Oh my gosh!!! I love those boards! Amber….that’s SO cool! By the way, I’ve started commenting a bit in Sector 5. I know I’m late, so I’m just skimming it in preporation for Book 2.

Interesting… He looks like he’s facing several dilemmas. I like him. Hmm.
😄 You were actually the only person to point that out! Yes…dilemmas is the perfect word.
Was he the prince in the short story?
Yup. 100% royalty.
Closer to the typical knight type of warrior. Honor is a big thing to him.
*big nod* Oh yes. 🎶 Truth, hon…[Read more]

Contemplative personality, probably optimistic in a quieter way.
Ooo, I love how you worded that! “Optimistic in a quieter way”. I’ve found that getting feedback on character boards gives me more varied vocabulary for describing them.
Probably has some good advice up his sleeve and maybe a little mischief(which others don’t e…

-Very nice green eyes (lol I just think green eyes are so cool)
😄 I didn’t even notice they were a green color…I was going for a pale blue/grayish…but I think “green” actually fits him well.

I decided I loved it when Kyler sent Jace flying into the mystery visitor. XD
😂 Yay!
There were several places where either the syntax or word choice made the little reading voice in my head stumble, so I’ll come back and note those,
Great! I will look forward to those. I actually went over the doc and changed some of those t…[Read more]

No worries! Thanks for getting back to me, though.
Great! From the three POVs, how would you describe those three fellows? Zahn, Kyler, and Guy.

Okay, great! I’m glad you felt that difference.
Yes…Jace is the youngest. Everyone else is in their twenties or thirties…Jace is the only one with the word “teen” in his age. Everyone views him like their little brother.
Guy… we didn’t really get much there, but I got the impression he is haunted by his past. Lol…

Yes! I’m planning, Lord willing, to write a book with these guys in it.
I did notice a few times that some words you used were either typos or not words at all (or words I’d never seen.)
Thanks. I think I caught all of those. The POVs seemed pretty different, I think. Obviously, the longer we spend with the characters, the more w…[Read more]

The story:
Starlit Night
A Refuge Rangers Short Story
“When was the last time you ate squirrel, Jace?”
Zahn looked up from his third stanza to spot Kyler poking a blackened rodent over the fire. Jace sat on the opposite side of the fire, scribbling away in his leather book. His blond head barely lifted at Kyler’s question.
“You mean th…[Read more]
