@lewilliams I have a bunch of posts about worldbuilding, if you want to give those a look and see if any of them are helpful. The blog Unusual Things also has some great worldbuilding posts. And Scout’s advice was good, too! Having a focusing point can be super helpful. (KP doesn’t like links, so I’ll link to my blog in a second post.…[Read more]

I’m totally in the same boat about worldbuilding! But one often helpful thing about worldbuilding: a guiding principle or two which is something that makes it different from the ordinary world, like magic rings that give the wearer powers in LOTR.

Heyooo!!!!! Ok. So I’m looking for books to read while hunkering down in quarantine… 😉
I’ve heard so many AMAZING things about Brandon Sanderson’s books, but I’m not sure which ones I should try first.

2)Â Or any other random book suggestions that you absolutely ADO…[Read more]

Maybe you could have it so the secret is almost revealed at the end of book one, but something happens and Arvie changes his mind. Then a little way into the second book, he is forced to admit the truth (or by his own will).
It’s just a thought. -

@lewilliams Oh yeah the mind palace, that was something else I thought was a little far-fetched, even though it does have roots in actual memory processes some people use. I’ve seen the whole thing, I definitely think the first season was the best, and then it kind of devolved into a larger, crazier plot. I was pretty happy with how they adapted…[Read more]

@kathleenramm (Realistic!) Ooh, I read the first book of All the Wrong Questions a long time ago. Never got around to the others, though.
@lewilliams Professor Layton! Never played but I do know about him.
@abigail-m She’s my dad’s favorite English author! I highly recommend And Then There Were None!

@lewilliams You’re right about Sherlock. I did love it but as the show went on, it’s like the writers got tired of explaining his thought process. Episode one, he’s making deductions and it’s clever because he explains why he came to that conclusion, but then later episodes it’s just “I know this and this and this because I’m smart, trust me.” A…[Read more]
