First of all, I completely agree about MacGuffins. They’re not bad, after all, I would argue that LOTR is a reverse-MacGuffin-quest-thing, but they’re often lazy.
Secondly! My worst mistake? I don’t know exactly, but a lot of my early stories and novels suffered from far too many main characters and subplots connected to those…[Read more]

@r-m-archer Pebble falls asleep whenever, wherever, so he would probably go with the first. Eleven hates bothering with things, though, so probably the latter.
Would your character rather switch bodies with their love interest or their rival/worst enemy?

@lewilliams Calloway already stays at home all the time. A certified neet, he is.
Would your character rather sleep for a hundred years or be awake for 10 days in a row working?

@kathleenramm Probably thinking that my writing was good, lol. My child brain had no concept of what good writing actually was. Gotta say nowadays I feel like I’m falling into the same trap. I have to constantly remind myself to keep the pride down and be humble.

@gracie-j Jonah is the type to blow them off, definitely.
@r-m-archer Lonny will take the Amazon and conquer it.
If your character is in a love triangle which one would they rather pick?

@gracie-j Laurence has a pet cat already. But out of those who don’t…Aven I think would have a dog.
Would your character rather listen to music or play an instrument?

@gracie-j Rolo would choose to be Batman’s sidekick, as long as it means that he can stay in the big manor house and develop tech and things.
Would your character rather eat really spicy things or really bitter things?

Chat seems to be dying more and more these days…
(Don’t mind if I answer my own question…) Luona’s a city boy. As is everyone in that story. They’re all in a city.
Would your character rather be tickled or chased?

@william-starkey I like whatever’s easy to play. Don’t have much time to practice, unfortunately, so it’s nice if I can pick it up quickly.
@gracie-j Ah thank you! The building was quite nice. The options were easy to understand and to place around.

@william-starkey I want to know why Bill reminds you of raisins. Is there a story here?
Yeah…I don’t write music too often; mostly piano compositions.
@r-m-archer Thanks for the heads-up. Should have that fixed.

@gracie-j No, I haven’t seen Leon (or William, as his new name proclaims). I hope he’s doing well, though.

@godlyfantasy12 Nice.
I always like to spend the New Year outlining projects I want to finish in the year.

@godlyfantasy12 That sounds like a lot of fun! I wish you luck!
Hmm…after my tests next week I’ll probably spend November working on another idea I had, and hopefully be done with it by the end of December.

Lin replied to the topic What's something not related to writing, that inspires the most story ideas? in the forum Topic of the Week 5 years, 6 months ago
@kathleenramm Not really, haha. The closest would be a few days ago when I dreamed I was watching Makoto Shinkai’s new non-existent anime. When I woke up I really wanted to write it down, but I forgot the ending, unfortunately.

@gracie-jÂ
You have sisters who want you to read to them? Can’t relate, haha…Do you have any tips on blogging? I’m currently being tempted by the “blog” button that my website creator has…even though I told myself I wouldn’t… -
Lin replied to the topic National Indie Author Day! in the forum General Writing Discussions 5 years, 6 months ago
@gracie-j I’m not sure if I count because I only publish web fiction, haha. I really like this idea.
But in the case that web fiction does count…I’ve posted a short story and a novella on Webnovel so far, and am hoping to work on much longer works some time. You can read basically anything I write for free here….…[Read more]
