@kathleenramm Definitely, definitely Ray Bradbury. Ever since I read Fahrenheit 451 I have learned how to spell Fahrenheit and have fallen in love with his prose. Every time I write after I read his work I am just filled with something that possess my hand to write long descriptive sentences.

I’d say either J.R.R. Tolkien, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, or Andrew Clements. Oh, or Beverly Cleary (who, surprisingly, I think is still alive). She is in her hundreds.

I was thinking of Byron or Bennett, depending on what sort of charrie he is. Byron would go for a fancier type, while Bennett is more similar to Barrett.

@kathleenramm Sci-fi for me too! The problem is that all the techy stuff would just go way over my head and I can’t xD Historical fiction would be awesome too, but I’ve never had the time for research and I wouldn’t even know which era to try, although ancient Rome has always fascinated me.

Thanks for the kind comment! I am publishing it as an ebook on Amazon. It took about two years to write. I actually sent one draft of the first chapter to a bestselling author, Andrew Clements, who wrote back to say that it made him want to read more! That was very encouraging, but unfortunately Mr. Clements died shortly after.

@kathleenramm Probably the former. I once had a short story idea for the Great Chicago Fire of 1873, but I managed to incorporate that into fantasy.

@kathleenramm I think it would be historical fiction.

There’s a lot of aesthetics/time periods that I really like, (1920’s, 1930’s, 1870’s) but I guess the reason why I haven’t is because there’s just too much research to do.
