Yep! I’m somewhere in between a plotter and pantser, I pantsed some novels and plotted others. At the moment I’m pantsing my way through a historical fantasy novel, and my last WIP was almost completely pantsed too. However, I do tend to plot my NaNoWriMo novels, because I don’t write pantsed novels fast at all (I’ve been working on…[Read more]

@kathleenramm Yes Tolkien was an amazing author! My inspiration for writing style is partly from him but less ‘fancy wording’ if you get what I mean XD simpler English.
Aww yes Colin is such a good character for a positive character arc. His character lie is big, isn’t it? I suppose he’s very relatable; he may be a brat to begin with and a…[Read more]

Yes, I did find it different to what I expected. When I set out to read it I had a bit of the “this is one of the old classics it’s gotta be dull” mentality. But I found it wasn’t that way at all and it had quite a bit going on in it. And I enjoyed it.

@kathleenramm I love the Secret Garden!! I’m glad you enjoyed it–it’s such a charming read. 😀 For me, I’m going to cheat and name the last two I read, since one was a physical book and the other an audiobook.
The last audiobook I finished was Ember Falls by S.D. Smith. It wasn’t my favorite book I’ve ever read, but I did enjoy it. I’ve not…[Read more]

@kathleenramm I’ve read other Star Wars books; mainly movie adaptions. There’s this one adaption of The Attack of the Clones that I really liked as a kid.

Haha 😛 I’m a qualified dog trainer and trained dogs professionally before the pandemic and I’d like to get back into it in a few years, I mostly read animal behaviour books to deepen my knowledge. But I do also like reading them for curiosity’s sake.
Hmm… personally I’m not sure what I would have done different. It seemed to me…[Read more]

Thank you for the encouragement. I’m definitely trying to be mindful of this and give myself a lot of grace. It’s hard but it is worth it in the end. <3 <3 <3

Ohhh I love Secret Garden, it’s a lovely book! I should read it again! Who’s your favourite character? I love the robin redbreast.
Children of Hurin is worth the read when you have time! for most people i know who have said that it’s intimidating it’s usually the writing style; it’s like reading an old history textbook for fun.…[Read more]

I’ve read mostly nonfiction, animal behaviour books this year which probably isn’t going to be very interesting for ninety nine percent of the KP population 😛 The last fiction book that I read which wasn’t a reread was Wuthering Heights.
What I liked:

The last book I read was 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne. I liked it. I really liked Captain Nemo’s mysteriousness. And how he always keeps you guessing.
I also liked Conseil’s characters. He is almost to cliche of a sidekick and yet… you can’t help but love him for his unfailing loyalty to Aronnax. -

@kathleenramm oh man good question! I haven’t actually sat down and read a book in months. I’ve been busy with moving across the country and renos and now moving again XD
I’ve listened through the Hobbit and LOTR several times in the last year in audiobook. The last book I actually held in my hands and read was Children of Hurin. Man, that is a…[Read more]

@kathleenramm I know you said most recent, but looking at my books, I’m going to go with the third most recent book I read, Lost Stars by Claudia Gray.
It’s a Star Wars book I bought ages ago but never got around to. Glad I finally did, though. I liked how it was slightly cleaner than most YA out there. I did not like how I failed to see that…[Read more]

@kathleenramm I can do either first. For my original stories, it’s usually the drawing and the story that go together (like my Rexy picture books) but for fanfics, I’ve found it’s often the drawing.

Hey ya’ll,
As you can see by the title, I’m trying to start a Portfolio/Blog. I’m using Wix to host it. Does anyone have any tips or advice on making an engaging website, and what it should/shouldn’t include? Also, when you have a blog, I’ve read that you should stick to one topic, is that true?? Or can I write about anything I think people would…[Read more]

My favorite character between both of their works has to be Aragorn. (although Edmond is pretty cool) What about you?
As for my major, I chose it for its versatility in the field. Potentially, I could do whatever I want with it and be okay. My heart isn’t really set in coding, but I’m fixed…[Read more]

This is such a great discussion topic. The truth is that I’ve never fallen out of love with writing because I haven’t written consistently enough. I think the reason why is that I put so much pressure on myself that I gave up before giving myself a good start. What’s your advice for this issue? So I think that now this summer that…[Read more]

This is a good question. So I find that I fall out of writing or lose my love for it when my life seems to be going well. Or, I should say, when my emotions are in check. My love for writing has come to depend on my emotions, and the emotions of my family. I was in a dark place two years ago, and so was my family. We were all…[Read more]
