@sage-g @notawriter @ariella-newheart @sarah-anson
Could one or two of you possibly draw me a character, please? 🙂
Randal—is 17, has auburn hair, green-yellow eyes, and a soft smile. He has a long white scar down the side of his neck. Clothing-wise, anything casual, probably just a T-shirt and jeans.
Hopefully that’s enough info! 😉

@jenwriter17 @kaya-young Thank you both so very much for putting time into commenting on this for me! Would you like me to post the entire book here or…?

@kaya-young Wow, thank you so much! I can definitely post the entire book if you want.
Well, I have not completed any other full books, but the sequel to the one you’re reading now is in the works and I also have a Superhero WIP along with some short stories/novelettes. 🙂 🙂

@sarah-anson I know what it’s like to have a MC that just. Won’t. Be. Compelling!!! *tears out hair* The MC of my story that is currently on hold was like that. She had a backstory I loved, she was quirky, realistic, and had a story goal. But what I found was holding her back from being interesting (or even likeable) was that she was kind of in…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 The whole book is written, I just don’t want to overwhelm anyone with critiquing the entire story…unless you want to. 🙂

To those of you who are interested, here are the next two chapters of the book. I’m pretty sure the fourth chapter is kinda confusing, so if you’d give me some pointers there I’d appreciate it!

So I found this the other day…
I wrote it when I was seven and the spelling is just horrible. *facepalm*
I’ll write out the story since it’s hardly legible (and I’ll fix the spelling and grammar mistakes):
Once upon a time there lived a cat. Now this cat was not an ordinary cat. The cat has lost a leg. The cat’s name was Pretty.Â
There w…[Read more]

@catwing I’m still developing her superpower but she can camouflage herself to blend in with anything. 🙂

@ingridrd Ooo! She looks awesome!
*draws out briefcase of collages* I made this one for the MC of a short story I’m writing (slowly), Abilene. I didn’t find any pictures that looked exactly like her, but this one is close enough.

@catwing @daughteroftheking @kaya-young @notawriter
Here’s another one I made for a character from my Superhero WIP…she’s one of my favorite characters, though I don’t yet know her as well as some of the others. 🙂

Ingrid replied to the topic My Life is Novellas in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years, 7 months ago
@jenwriter17 I know this a late response, but I have had this same “issue” (if you can call it that). 🙂 It has bothered me that I can’t get past a certain number of words for a story. What I’ve come to realize is that I just need to write what is necessary. If my story is finished in 30,000 words, so be it! And the next round of editi…[Read more]

There is some shuffling, then more silence.
“Brek, what—?”
The door bursts open.

@ariel-ashira Well, this isn’t really something I think about a whole lot because I tend to have a good grip on my characters so I just always do what feels right for them and it pretty much turns out. I guess though personally, if I had a brother I thought was dead show up alive I would probably rush him and hug him.
