Heyo! I know a lot of people dis on writing prompts, but when I’m in a serious pickle, I love using those for inspiration. XD (I just used two words that I never use unless I’m online, lol!) Usually, I just have to take a break from my current project, and after a bu…[Read more]

Cool! I just started reading The Wingfeather Saga and I’m a few chapters in.
What makes the series one of your favorite? And do you have a favorite book and character from the series?
ah, yes, C.S. Lewis is amazing. I’ve only read the Chronicles of Narnia and a few of his non-fictional work, but I’ve been wanting to read his space…[Read more]

What do you do when you hit a road-block in your story?
There are usually two things I do.The first thing that helps me the most is talking about it with my siblings. Talking about it and brainstorming ideas together is probably the most helpful thing to me.
However, there are the times when either my siblings have absolutely no interest in…[Read more]

Hey KeePers!
I was thinking that it’d be fun if we all shared inspiration or things that we made. For example, we could share collages, mock covers, playlists, or even quizzes!
I personally find it inspirational to see other people’s inspiration, if that makes sense, haha!
So I’ll start with a quiz (for my WIP) and…[Read more]

Are you kidding? Grace Johnson for an author’s name is amazing! Like I reference it to people and your site and it always sounds perfect. It reminds me a lot of Jane Austen or a Bronte 🙂

Ooh, I love that! ‘Joy C. Woodbury’ looks, sounds, and is, awesome, (I agree, the middle initial thing is pretty cool).
Thank you! 😀 Me too, I love CSFTS. I think my favorite books have gotta be the ones for writers, (have you read those? I think there’s only two of them so far). My sister prefers the cat compilations which also…[Read more]

I think that using your initials would be an excellent choice! (You’re so right, it looks amazing!)
*Whew* that’s good to know! I am so glad that I’m not 🙂 -

I think that in fantasy, initials are a continuous popularity, like say J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and J.K. Rowling. Although on the other hand, other fantasy stars like Niel Gaiman just stick with their real name and go with that.
Some writers like to take on pen names for the obvious reasons like privacy and genre-switching or…[Read more] -

Huh, I’ve never been able to really word my struggle with plots before, but you just did. I mean that is the EXACT problem I have. I have all these scenes and big events and a grasp of the concept, but it just feels like these big boulders of plot points with pieces of string tied from one to the other for the characters to cross to…[Read more]

XD Well, JC sounds awesome. Kinda like CS in Clive Staples Lewis or JRR like Tolkien 🙂 Oh yes, that is true. You are still expected to publicize; one of my poems is going to appear in a Chicken Soup For The Soul book, and they’re already sending me information, informing me on all the hows and whens and dos and don’ts of what they…[Read more]

Hi Ella! I may be able to help you on the level of a depressing theme getting to you. I have done it in the past where a theme or plotline that I feel should be in my writing. Or a theme I think will make my writing better or one that feels like a strong theme. I do it because I to, literally need strong themes in my work to keep my love…[Read more]
